On the Front page blog someone mentioned that MUC is playing St. JJohn Fisher in 2008 is that a fact or a rumor?

I saw that as well and was wondering. I have not seen it anywhere else. It was kind of funny though cause the post seemed like they were excited to get Mount (at least the poster was). I don't know if I would be excited at the thought of opening the season with Mount.

They are dual NAIA/NCAA members who have declared NAIA for every year we've been around, hence we don't track them.

Do they get to cast votes for #1 in both levels? Somebody better "track" these guys during the elections!

Is that all you really have to do is declare yourself to be in one or the other? (or both )?   I didnt know that. In that case I declare the Raiders to be in the UGAC. The Uber Good Athletic Conference. To get in you to win 5 or more National Championships. Looks like Mount will win it all again this year.  ;)

Will BW be squeegying the turf all night long or will there be long plumes of water behind the players as they get tackeled? That surface has to be built over a slab of concrete. It wont drain too well all by itself.

I think they've only played two D-III schools from 1999-present.

Pat,

Is that just fball, or all sports.  Afterall, they were the d3 bball national runners-up in 1997.

Well, I was in attendance for the BW-John Carroll game, and it was POURING (it was postponed, that's how bad it got), and neither team really seemed to have a problem on the field. In a light rain tomorrow there won't be any problems.

This is a football board. It was a football question. I gave a football answer.

Understood.  But you evaded the answer to MY question.

I haven't seen talk of them on bball either.  Are they just down, or now going NAIA in all sports?

joelmama and desertraider:

That was me on the daily dose blog about Fisher v MUC in '08.  There was alot of discussion about how everyone is afraid to schedule MUC and how they dont get any competition in the reg. season.

Fisher indeed did schedule them for '08, week 1, and of cousre 'we' are excited, how could one not be to play the team that nobody can beat...just tell MUC to be careful...Fisher flies well under the radar.

Keep in mind that it's not so much no one watns to schedule MUC, it's just that there's only 1 open spot for OAC teams. Not one of my favorite things about the OAC (If B-W could beat Augustana I would've liked to see more, for example), but it works.

I think that puts the schools whose fans have found the need to "warn" Mount Union about their team in double figures. Get real.

"I think that puts the schools whose fans"
A fan and a former player...I am real, so is Fisher, why such harsh words?

Fair enough.  Let me try one more time.

In bball, does Neb Wes go d3 or NAIA?

D3. They're independent. Used to be in NAIA back in the 50's and 60's.
