Will BW be squeegying the turf all night long or will there be long plumes of water behind the players as they get tackeled? That surface has to be built over a slab of concrete. It wont drain too well all by itself.

I played a JV game at BW in 1990 in the rain and everytime you got up off the rug you had wet, grainy sand in your teeth.  Worst field I ever played on.

That was me on the daily dose blog about Fisher v MUC in '08.  There was alot of discussion about how everyone is afraid to schedule MUC and how they dont get any competition in the reg. season.

Fisher indeed did schedule them for '08, week 1, and of cousre 'we' are excited, how could one not be to play the team that nobody can beat...just tell MUC to be careful...Fisher flies well under the radar.

If this is true, how come there are no offical announcements or news stories about it (on MUC or SJF websites)?  Not saying I don't believe you, but the only place I have seen this is on the Daily Dose and now on here.

Well for one, the official schedules probably are not out yet, so the respective schools' websites would not have the info or bother to release it I guess.  I am a former player/alum of Fisher and received 'inside info' so to speak.

I would think that if it were "official" both schools would announce it right away.

According to Ric (http://www.mtunionfootball.com/mtunionfootball/futureschedules.htm) Mount does have an open spot in '08.  When Ric fills in that spot, St. John Fisher or someone will officially be on Mount's '08 schedule. ;-)

Ric

Concerning St. John Fisher I will see if anything is official today. I can tell you since the cat seems to be out of the bag via SJF that I have heard the same thing but only that the two schools were talking, not that anything had been agreed upon.

"I think that puts the schools whose fans"
A fan and a former player...I am real, so is Fisher, why such harsh words?

I don't think those were intended as "harsh words". Just look at reality for a minute:
2005 - Champions; 2004 - Semifinals; 2003 - Finals; 2002 - Champions; 2001 - Champions; 2000 - Champions; 1999 - Semifinals; 1998 - Champions; 1997 - Champions; 1996 - Champions; 1995 - Semifinals; 1994 - Quarterfinals; 1993 - Champions.

Some more reality: "Since 1990, the Raiders have made 15 playoff appearances while posting college football's most wins and best winning percentage (201-10-1/.950). During the last 14 regular seasons......[they] have posted a phenomenal 138-2 overall mark" (www.muc.edu).

This is not meant as a smack or anything - just that in the last 20 years "Mount has won a few more" than they have lost. Additionally, in the last few years on this board a number of teams posters have come on to say that Mount has not seen anything like them - only to slink away and never be heard from again after reality rises up and knocks them to the ground. Mount is not unbeatable - but I can't find anything closer to a guarantee in all of sports.

"Tell Mount that I'm coming."  -Antoine Dunklin, JCU WR, Oct. 2003.  Final score:  Mount Union 34, JCU 16.

Tell MUC to be careful...right.  They've won 8 national titles because they have a tendancy to overlook opponents.
The point is this:  Mount doesn't need your "warning."  They'll be ready like they always are.

Too bad about Cochran.  I always rooted for him (he is a Blue Streak, after all).

Toph,
Do you know what Dunklin is doing these days?  Physically, he was the best athlete on the field when I saw the Mount/Carroll game in Oct '03 at Shula.

BW is using a freshman QB and it sounds like he is doing well. A couple of good completions on the current drive. Looks like another battle in Berea.

reality check

Developing situation in Ada...

I haven't had the chance to log onto the ONU broadcast but Marietta leads 7-3 at the half.

RJ Meadows has no carries and looks like he isn't playing.  I don't know the reason (injury or otherwise).

Adam Quirk appears to be out as well.  He is 0-2 pasing with Jeff Pankratz completing 7 of 11 passes in the first half.

I don't know what's up but something's going on in Ada.
