EXCELLENT radio coverage by WRMU crew.  These guys are the best we've ever had.

As a part of the WRMU team, I am glad to hear you enjoy our coverage and thanks for the compliment.  We give our best every week.

As far as the game was today, Mount definitely needs to cut down on the penalties.  10 for 114 yards is not good especially the one holding penalty that negated a TD.  That being said some of the penalties were bad calls.  There was a pass interference that was called against Mount that was questionable as well as one against BW that wasn't called.  Some of the holding penalties were questionable as well and somebody explain to me how the referees can not notice the play clock expiring and sitting on :00 for 5 seconds when BW had the ball.  Very possibly the worst officiating I have seen in the OAC.  And honestly to me sometimes it seems like the refs penalize Mount on very marginal calls that IMHO wouldn't be called if it were another team.

Hopefully you don't use that kind of commentary on the air. Complaining about officiating in that manner is borderline unprofessional and can really make a broadcast sound third-rate.

Pat: Do you by any chance have a link to that article from Widner? I would love to see it.

Don't believe it's still available. I printed it because it mentioned Post Patterns in the lead. Have it on file at home.

Having listened to every MUC game via internet broadcast I can say that the radio crew does not show bias. The radio call is excellent - especially when compared to other OAC teams I have listened to (ONU is horribly biased).

No, honestly, I'm not going to retype it for you. I don't have that kind of spare time. As I said, I printed it.

I don't use that kind of commentary on the air. I know better than to say something like that. I always am trying my best to give the most unbiased view of the game that I can.  It just seems to me that some of the penalties called on Mount are really ticky-tack and most of them probably wouldn't be called against other teams.  Don't get me wrong Mount makes their fair share of penalites but for the #1 team in the country to be penalizied as often as they have been and with some of those penalites being questionable in nature, sometimes it just makes me question the calls being made and for that matter not being made out on the field.

To all Mount Union supporters,

Congrats on the win!

But most of all, thank you for showing the rest of D3 that you are human.  As a Rowan fan, I would love to get another crack at Mount.

Good luck the rest of the season!

Ric

mtfan LOL she was something else.  I just feel for the poor bastard that is her ex-husband.  I say ex because with a piercing scream like that I can't imagine she is still married to anyone LOL.

On another note did anyone sitting on the B-W side get as tired as me of the home teams fans yelling at the Jackets coaching staff about the play calling? Every time they ran the ball someone was not happy. Do they realize if they threw it on every play their QB would have been sacked even more than the seven times he already was.  You have to at least try to keep a defense honest.

On a third note, in speaking with the main man today I can share that a home and home deal with SJF  for '08 and '09 is not final but is close.  '08 would be in Alliance and '09 at SJF to get the Raiders back on track of five home and five road games.

OK I'm out of notes, for now.

Thanks Ric, appreciate the news.  Wish I could hear your broadcast on the net since 1310 AM doesn't reach all the way down here in FL.

How well I remenber the great quote by Antoine Dunklin of John Carroll in 2003."Tell Mount Union I;am coming to town." Poster Toph was big on  Antoine  but I do not think  Mr. Dunklin the self proclaimed super star had anything to say when Mount shut him down and won 34-16.I also printed the Widener quotes when they were " coming " to Alliance Ohio to play the machine in 2003.Final score Mount 70 -Widener 30.Hello to my Ol buddyToph.

So how much of  yesterdays low score was a result of TO's and penalties?

And how much was good defense by both teams?
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!
