Ric-
It's been a few days and as far as I've seen no one answered your question as to why intentional grounding was called against BW.  If I remember the play correctly (and I may not) the QB was out of the pocket as you said.  His pass, however, did not reach the line of scrimmage which makes intentional grounding the correct call in that instance.

As for Saturday...on a rainy, cold day I find it hard to bet against Kmic.  Capital will have their work cut out for them.

Obviously my request is going to be denied, but I guarantee you will still be able to hear what I have to say at the game.  I just thought it might be a sign of goodwill towards the opposition to allow a guest in the booth.  I am sure I could add some "INSIDE INFORMATION" and analysis to the game.  Doug Phillips was a guest announcer at last year's playoff game and I know I could do as well him.  From watching our 2005 Back of the Year play, I think I could play as well too.  If you change your minds, RIC and HS Coach, you know where to find me.

To change the subject a little, as some of you may already know the "OTHER MOUNT" in Ohio is also undefeated so far. These guys have sure come a long way in a short time! What do you think their playoff chances are? How would their record be if they played in the OAC? Where would you rank them right now if they were in the OAC?

If Cincinnati Harmony serves as the feeder school for Mount St. Joseph there could be trouble in D3. Harmony is undefeated thus far with wins over Mount Union and Ohio Northerns JV squads. I know Harmony tries to get their kids scholarships to bigger schools and not into D3 programs, but they all wont go to big schools.
Maybe McKinley would want to be Mount Unions prep school. Naw...they cant keep em in school for 4 years hardly, let alone 5.

seventiesraider

Mt St Joseph doesn't really need Harmony talent. They have enough kids from Elder, Colerain,LaSalle, Warren JFK, Chaminade-Julienne, as well as a stud QB from Texas. I think most DIII schools would have academic problems with 5th year high school kids. BTW the tough part of MSJ's schedule is still in front of them.

Dabien, don't sit by the phone.  And don't make being on the radio sound trivial like anyone can do it because that is not the case. Phillips was not a guest in anyone's booth last year, he was a paid color commentator for D3Football.com internet broadcasts of a couple playoff games. And he earned the right to be asked to do that by two things, one, his play on the field, having won First-Team All-Conference at quarterback, and two, by his work in the communication department at John Carroll University.  I know he did some radio work for the student station on basketball games as well.  When you come in here and spout off those of us that have been around here a while and have earned the respect of others are not impressed.  The two most powerful things I know of are God and the Sun, and neither have had to tell me over and over how great they are, they just quietly show me every day. Maybe you should try it.

Ric

BTW, those of you that passed along the nice messages last week I appreciated it.  It didn't go unnoticed but I neglected to thank you.  I also wish our broadcasts were on the internet.  I've even tossed around the idea of linking it to my site.  If anyone knows of an easy and inexpensive way to do this I'm all ears.

I really could care less about MSJ but I have to chime in when someone picks my alma mater out of the air to demonstrate a school's depth/talent pool.  I checked the MSJ website and see one name from Chaminade Julienne.  He's a freshman WR with and looks to be a non-factor on the varsity roster.  If I missed someone, I apologize.  But if a kid I don't even remember playing hs ball in Dayton is a sign that MSJ has a loaded talent pool then I'm missing the connection.  If you are trying to say CJ is in MSJ's backyard then you're neglecting to realize that Wittenberg is much closer and other schools like ONU, CAP, OTT, WILMA, etc. are all about as close as MSJ to Chaminade.

First off, I agree completely with the comment above the one I have quoted.  I just didn't want to be quoting the last five or six posts in succession.  I agree with your take on Phillips completely and know what you mean.  Well said.

In regard to webcasting options, check out stretch internet or broadcast monsters.  I never had to dial in myself but I know it's easy to set up.  I know Pat is probably as good as anyone to talk to but I would suggest you contact Gordon Mann if you have some questions.  Gordon was great in explaining the in's and out's to me last season and he knows his stuff.

We'll just have Rocky come up at half time to do some "color commentary" I beleive he meets your requirements:

1. Best QB to ever play OAC football
2. He's been in school for 12 years, I'm sure he has taken some kind of communications class.

I vote  yes! to Debein on MUC Football radio this saturday!

And ric. don't get mad because people other than MU fanboys post on this board now. It's not like we stole your GI Joes, baby.

If you don't like reading, do us all a favor and open your own forum on your  website so you guys can sit there and talk about how great MU is to eachother and nobody will hurt your feelings.

13 Posts and -17 Karma.  That is fricking awesome!

BTW, we don't mind others coming on here and posting intelligent conversation, just get tired of all the diarrhea of the mouth from so called "experts" from other schools.  This isn't the "Jim Rome Show" with smack talk that was out of date like five years ago.  Come all you want, just post accurately and be respectful of those who have been here a while.

Now I am starting to talk like my Dad.  Damn, when did I get old?

hahahahahahahahahahahaha  ;D blind_side u are one intelligent person... rem the only reason u have  - karma is because the Mount posters give them to u.... Cap fans have better things to do than sit on the computer all day and monitor every move by every person on here...  have nothing to say about the game  except I hope both teams play hard and no one gets injured... the game is played on the field....

Curious trend nationally as Mount recieved only 35 of a possible 40 first place votes this week.  The lowest % this season I believe.  Is Mount slipping in the eyes of the D3 world?  Thoughts and comments welcome.

The first AFCA Poll had 35 votes for MUC.  Then three straight weeks at 36 votes.  Now, back to 35 this week.  I don't know where the trend is there???

Another reason why other posters hate MUC on Post Patterns.  Woe is me, we lost a vote in the Coaches poll this week.  :)

Just keep putting up those Ws, because the only poll that matters is the last one of the year.

Mount got 36 out of 40 votes this week after a lackluster offensive performance at BW.  Who knows?

Sorry RC, I thought there were two from C-J and was only using those schools to point out that they have reasonable sources of talent and the fact that they have kids from places like Dayton, Warren, Louisville (Ky) and Delphos shows they are actively recruiting. And I too could care less about MSJ, unless they show up in Alliance. 8)

Sorry to interupt OAC talk here... but the kid from TX is a stud ATHLETE not QB.  There's been much debate over the past year as to what to do with the guy.  Though he's improved his passing, he's not a system passer at all....but does posess 100 meter champion speed.
