hahahahahahahahahahahaha  ;D blind_side u are one intelligent person... rem the only reason u have  - karma is because the Mount posters give them to u.... Cap fans have better things to do than sit on the computer all day and monitor every move by every person on here...

Wrong.  There's at least one Polar Bear fan that is unimpressed by immaturity, inaccuracy and general rudeness from newbies that appear to be more interested in getting a rise out of the rest of the board than posting anything factual or substantial.  I'm happy to hit that "smite" button every time someone says something stupid.

I remember a time on Post Patterns where smack regarding the game was talked about when a team challenging Mount was prepping for the Raiders.  Now the fans of the contending schools appear to be more interested in personal shots at long-time posters, lame (out of line) requests to get on the radio, and cheapshots at former athletes totally unrelated to the pending matchup, etc. to have any time to actually talk about the upcoming matchup.  We've had some idiot posters representing ONU in the past but at least we talked a little junk about the games.  You Mount fans can't even have any fun with the retarded drivel that's been generated this week.

(No disrespect to those CAP posters that do contribute and have been around.  I think we all understand who this is directed towards.)

you're correct REALITY CHECK.... i totally agree with u...

"retarded drivel"  I think that is the first time that phrase has been uttered on this site.

I am a Cap fan and I have no problem smiting fellow crusaders if they are out of line.  I don't think any of the respected Cap guys like tdubs, elee, etc. do either.

on a different note.. what does everyone think about the Student Princes getting a new coach for next season.... What is it going to take to get the, to turn around a program?... one thing is they need to teach their o-line and d-line to attack off the ball... their enterior D reads instead of just attacking and their end are little guys that just rush up field but do not make progress towards the Qb... i think it is going to take someone with attitude and a background in weight training... those boys need to hit the weight room and get big.... some teams may not get the recruits they would like, but the ones they put on the field could at least look the part

I think that the Burg does need some changes. But as far as the players go I respect everyone of them. To be able to put on the pads each and every week knowing what they are going up against and fighting to turn the program around is a very comendable and respectful.

As far as their Oline and Dline goes, I haven't paid to much attention to them this year but I remember seeing them play last year and they had a D-End that I thought was very impressive.

You really do have too much time on your hands. Should we start a "Caption the Picture" contest? ???

I know Doug Phillips.  I worked with Doug Phillips.  You, sir, are no Doug Phillips.

On a serious note, Doug is a good broadcaster.  Obviously he understands the game and had played against Mount Union so his insights were valuable.  He also did a great deal of research for those games for d3football.com.  It's not like you just show up and talk for these sorts of things.  A three hour broadcast usually requires about six hours of research, interviews, and preparation if you want to do it right.

Ric is also correct to point out that Doug was a communications major at Carroll and he worked as a play by play broadcaster for the women's basketball team and as my color partner for many of the men's basketball games.  Don't assume that you would be able to do as well as he did.

Capitals O-Line is tough this year, not to mention  the defense.I am hoping that this will be the year for Cap.

Well, for one thing the success of a D2 school in the same town isnt gonna help! Tiffin is currently undefeated. They give scholarships...Berg doesnt. Its only narural that the better athletes in the region will look harder at Tiffin than Heidelberg. At the Berg you might get to play earlier. That could sway a few. For those of you who would like to see Mount Union prove themselves against D2 talent, this might interest you.....Tiffin plays the "Other Mount" in Ohio in a couple of weeks.  See, its not unheard of!  Any predictions?

Obviously my request is going to be denied, but I guarantee you will still be able to hear what I have to say at the game.  I just thought it might be a sign of goodwill towards the opposition to allow a guest in the booth.  I am sure I could add some "INSIDE INFORMATION" and analysis to the game.  Doug Phillips was a guest announcer at last year's playoff game and I know I could do as well him.

I missed this post originally but wanted to mention that broadcasting is harder than you think it is. Doug did a great job for us and if he weren't working at his day job on Saturdays we'd be finding a way to get him on the air.

Well, I'm not sure personally what to do with Heidelberg. I mean, being inthe same town as a good football school isn't bad in itself (OSU and Capital are both in Columbus), but yeah, that critical pipeline ends up disappearing. They need to appeal themselves somehow. It sounds like common sense but most DIII schools don't really brag about athletics when you visit them (I think Depauw was the only one that bragged to be out of al my visits (5), and that was really just the Monon Bell Game they talked about). Still, I wouldn't worry too much because all teams go in cycles from bad to good, Heidelberg's just on a bad end righ tnow.

Wow.  I've been out of town for 3 days and someone is already trying to push me out of the MUC pressbox ???  Yikes.  Looks like I'm back just in time.......

Onto the MUC/Cap game, I'm not sure what to predict going in other than to expect a very physical game played with playoff intensity.  Being an old O-linemen makes this a biased opinon, but I really think this game is to be won or lost in the trenches.  If MUC can get consistent pressure on Greybeard with just the front 4 then Capital's O is in trouble.  And conversely, if Cap has to play with 8 in the box to stop Kmic, then look out.  However the great equalizer is tournovers.

Is it Saturday yet?  I'm ready for some football!

IMO, this is the key match up Sautrday. Cap's "O Line" vs Mounts blitz packages. If Rocky is given time to throw, it will be a good one. If Mount sucessfully pressures him, it will be a long day for Cap.
