I am not making any excuses for Cap, they got beat by a good team. Do I think that we could have beaten them had we played much better. YES!
As far as the fans go, you did'nt hear the comments yelled at us while we were setting up to feed the team. In the past 5 years we have played at Mount 4 times and it has always been the same thing. I do hope we win out and get a shot at them again.

I second that "hope" and also hope for a mild weather day so Mount can open the passing game! Saturday all CAP had to do was look for the run - I mean to say it was a one sided offense is an understatement. For a minute I thought I was listening to Augustana. Imagine the butt kicking if Mount could have added the threat of a passing attack to go along with it! For all CAP fans out there I recommend a trip to the short North area of Columbus. Plenty of wine and cheese shops for you to choose from.
RIP MUC57 - Go Everybody!

I, for one, will apologize for a few of the Raider fans--there are a few and I mean very few a**wipes that get too carried away--I have observed them myself--the purple wigged one and his band of merry idiots have crossed the line on more than a few occasions.  Of course I've also seen such behavior by a few of the fans from JCU, ONU, CAP, OTT, HEID, ETTA, MUSKY, BW, and WILM.  Heck, I've even seen some jerks during the playoffs--I remember Rowan fans chanting something challenging the sexuality of players that wear purple.

But I don't paint all of the other fans with the same brush.  I chalk the bad behavior up to testosterone poisoning exacerbated by an overindulgence in alcohol.

I think most of us have a great deal of respect for the players and fans from the opposing teams--I know that I have had some great conversations before and after games with fans from UWWW, Bridgewater, Wabash, etc.  In fact I had a great conversation this week with a CAP fan who was waiting in line with his little granddaughter.  (She had very cute dark brown eyes and had grandpa wrapped around her little finger)

Too bad you had such a bad experience--next time look me up and I'll try to assuage your feelings and fears.

Now, as far as CAP beating Mount this year--who, besides yourself, are you kidding?  Negative yardage on the ground?  An inability to even slow Kmic down?  Two blocked extra points and one blocked punt (and another one missed being blocked by about 6") Sorry, but you are going to have to wait until at least next year before you can claim that CAP can beat us.  If we do meet in the playoffs I predict a Mount victory by more than 40 points.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Be careful what you ask for...Rocky is all Cap has, and that is not enough.  The best QB in the OAC is not enough to stop MUC, you need a little defense.  Their defense showed yesterday what I thought would happen.  Run, run, run...for crying out loud MUC had 2 pass attempts the entire 2nd half.  Wonder if Cap thought about stacking the box, or making any adjustments to stop the run??  Kmic showed me why he is the best back in the OAC, and possibly D3!  This game was a game of few posessions, and no TO's...the only way to beat MUC, is to hope they turn the ball over.  However, with that being said, Kmic has 1 fumble & Jorris has 2 int's, so that is probably not going to happen.  Good luck MUC for your run at the Stagg.  I will being praying for a W against BW, to hope for another playoff run...

everybody has seen rude fans over the years.  I won't comment on that anymore.  But my favorite still is polar bear fans [mostly students] wearing t shirts in orange and black with MUC FONT UNION across the front .  Everybody likes to kick the giant.  if you can't win on the field find another venue to exploit.  And so it goes.

CU parent I don't know which Cap. player you belong to but my guess is you will get another chance.
As you well know defense wins championships.  Rocky will get the points but he has to be on the field.  Your defense let the raider offense on the field way too long.

I remember BW Fans wearing shirts with that slogan in 1992 or so.  JCU fans had "Mount This" shirts.  Oh, those silly/creative college students....

OK Now I know you're lying...

You claim to have actually seen Berg, Wilma and Musky fans???  Let alone rude Musky, Wilma and Berg fans???  I don't believe it. :)

Welcome to The MOUNT UNION ONLY BOARD

where all other discussion/non mount union fanboys will not be welcomed.

...and i was not making any exuses for the lost.

The lost don't need any excuses anyways.  They probably don't even know they're missing. (Unless of course you're refering to that CAP running attack which someone needs to make an excuse for.)

A few years ago at Mukingum I saw a Musky fan try to pick a fight with our cheerleaders.  He seemed to take offense to the fact that they could do more pushups than he could.

Based on what I remember, I wouldn't want to pick a fight with any of the MUC cheerleaders.  Back in '99-'00 I remember them looking rougher than the Raider d-line.

Oh yeah, they still looked better than the Wabash cheerleaders!

Yeah, BW still has plenty of the "Muck Fount" T-shirts going around.
As for the fans being rude, for the most part I'd say they're pretty good. They seem to get angrier as the coaches for bad play calls then the other team. I've already explained the 3rd down noises we make.

Ajwassup

when is the playoff bracket revealed?  is it Nov 12th, the day right after teh final games?  Is it gonna be broadcast on TV?

just wondering
