We will probably have a Division 6 H.S. playoff game on the green parking lot called  Finnie Stadium Friday night. I'm tempted to stay over in Berea for Saturday's game. I have a hunch this will be quite a game.

BTW Mount safety Matt Kostelnik scored his fourth TD today, so should we add him to the Offensive POY poll??? lol

reality check

Still looking for a box score from the ONU game but I did read the game summary on Heidelberg's website.  I feel for the Student Princes and wish those guys could turn it around and put a couple W's in the record books.

The write-up highlighted the Princes' goal line stand to start the game and 27 yard FG to cut the game to 20-3 in the first half.  It's got to be hard to find bright spots in Tiffin these days.  Those guys get my respect for going out and competing like this every week knowing the way things have been going.

Anxious to see if the ONU youth did the damage on the scoreboard and how the defense stacked up.

JCU did a great job today shutting down Kmic.  At one point he had 12 carries for 19 yards.  If only the offense could've gotten things going a little better, the game would've been closer.  This JCU team is 4-5, but that record doesn't tell the story of their season.

Found my box score...

ONU completed 18 of 19 passes on the day for 220.  Pankratz started and Quirk came off the bench.  Some young RB's shared the carries and altogether the Bears ran for 265 yards.

No big defensive numbers on the day.

At least ONU found the offense again (I know it's Heidelberg.)

Toph,

I was impressed by JC's D today, which had all of us Mount fans frustrated (at least I was). Micheli did a nice job...gives the other team another perspective.

You may see much more of Micheli next week as Mount prepares for the playoffs.

excellent game by the streaks defense.  JC coaches had a great game plan to stop MT,s running game.  This coupled with a subpar game for Mt,s offense caused some anxious moments at Kehres field.  Michali was the difference with his running skills in the second half.  JC had not prepared for this part of his game.  They did not seem to have an answer for his running ability.  Jorris was off on most of his passes.  PG dropped some as well.  Mt. coaches adjusted with Michali and he came through.  This game could easily have been a lot closure.  Mt's defense was the difference as JC QB was sacked/hurried alot today.  It wasn't pretty but a win is a win, just ask Jim or Lloyd.   Mt. better be ready for mariette as they won against JC early this season.  There might have been a let down after last weeks big game against Cap.  On to Don Drumm field.

2007 OAC Defensive POY Poll:

http://www.d3sports.com/post/index.php?topic=4910.0

Not quite sure how you came up with the players you did??  Kyle Hauser???  He has not played all year b/c of injury, and his real name is Kyle Hausler!!!  If you want to add a Cap defender, you need to add Nick Bucci for his 9.5 sacks & 12 TFLS's.  Why 2 players for ONU & MUC??  I think some others should be added to the list for other OAC Teams.  Some that come to mind are Paul Burger for BW, Chad Otte for Wilmington, and Jack Junker for Muskingum...
