runyr - You must be a Cap fan  ::)

skunks - I have to agree with you about our running game and since Cap gives up 100 yds./game the plan would be to run the ball and keep the old man off the field. I'm sure if we need a passing game it will be there. I'm still concerned with the penalties...hopefully those penalties won't shoot us in the foot at a time when we need a play.

Cap fans...Rocky has had a great career and year but c'mon, the guy is 0-5 against Mount. What makes you think this game will be any different? Think with your head and not your heart.

WRMU:
My only link to the game is WRMU.  I have been a regular listener since 1999.  I want to say again those guys are awesome for college station broadcasters.  They do a heck of a job.  I will miss them when they graduate.

purpled,
I'm a Cap fan when they're playing outside the OAC.   ;)

There are a lot of QB's 0-fer vs Mount, but that should not diminish what he has meant to the program and to the OAC for that matter.

cufan - As I said Rocky has had a great career and year and I'm not taking that away from him or what he has meant to Capital. But he has not been on a team or guided a team that has beaten Mount, won an OAC title or made it to the Stagg Bowl. And since we hear "Rocky this, Rocky that", I'm asking Cap fans...Why will Saturday's game be any different than the previous five?

And the last QB to beat Mount ended up splitting time with a SO this year.  So it's all a crapshoot.

usee- sorry bud, but Pentello is much better than NC's Qb... Cap was willing to give up the short passes all day knowing that he could not beat them deep.... Rocky is simply the best passer in D3 and people can harp all they want on his FOUR year career all they want.. thats right RC just FOUR years... not 10, 15 or 18 FOUR

theaprof- yes people are going to talk about Rocky this and that because well why not he is a stud... plain and simple... hands down.. bar none the best to come out of D3... over 400 playoff game 1 399 playoff game 2...

regardless of the outcome this coming sat at Mount... Rocky is still just the Qb... he can win and lose a game on his shoulders, but the other players need to play at a higher level

words of wisdom go into mount game expecting to win not just hoping to win... good luck ill be around all week for support on here lol

If they knew he couldn't beat them deep wouldn't they want to shut down the short pass?  I don't follow your logic.  Seems like knowing they can't do one thing would make it that much easier to focus on stopping another.

RC good call ill try and come up with something at a later date... my point was arm strength to arm strength no comparison.. like putting Kitna in a battle with Palmer...

Or Palmer vs. Frye today...

Alter made it to state so the GCL has some hope.  Although I hate Alter, I do take some comfort knowing the GCL is still alive at state.  Of course, Alter loses points for having a girl on it's offensive line and looking so much like BW.

There has been talk of the "best back in the nation" on this site, and it seems like a few of the gurus are stating that Beaver is the best ???

How in the WORLD could anyone make that statement?  How can anyone say Beaver is better than Kmic?  That is about the silliest thing I have heard to date.  I watched Beaver last year in the Stagg Bowl.  Nice back, but we all know who won the statistical battle that day.  As for this year, I realize Beaver has been hurt, but HELLO........has anyone looked at Kmic's numbers?

Everyone likes "their guy", so I get why a WW fan would favor Beaver, but the non-biased D-III observers?  There isn't data or statistics to back up that statement.

Linfield people thought BE was the best QB of all time, and at least that guy had a Stagg Bowl championship under his belt.  Rocky.....ummm.....yah.....right.  ::)

Support your guy and your team, but try to be at least a tiny bit realistic about it.

skunks_sidekick,

I would have thought that Beaver is the best back in the country.  I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Kmic nor Beaver play - just from what I have read & followed.  Whether its justified or not, I think some Mount players are victims of the system - meaning that they are so good as a team, that individuals may not get the press we'd think.  I have to admit, when Kmic posted huge numbers last year as a Frosh, I assumed his O-line was dominant - rather then thinking it was him.  With that said, I don't think it is as outlandish as you lead on that many from around the country believe that Beaver is the top back.

I, too, just got back from Ohio within the hour.

Capital is pretty good.  Rocky Pentello is pretty good.

One thing Capital needs from the past is the jazz band to return and play 70s porn music.

Mike Ancona has coached more Post Patterns participants on the offensive line(me, 2minuteO, and blind side) than any other coach.  Good job, coach!

e_lee,
Thanks for exposing me! I was trying to keep my heritage hush hush.. lol Glad you were able to get up to the game and see Coach Ancona, Hopefully you will be able to make the trip to Mount, I'll be there!

RC, Too bad you don't have anything positive to say about your own team, where are they? that's right sitting at home. Do you feel some kind of embarrassment because Rocky has beat ONU 3 times now?

ELee,
Glad you made it back to South Carolina safe. It was good seeing you.

Reality,
I'll take Alter at State any day!lol....but Mangold's sister on the line is just crazy!

I watched the Cap game and was very impressed. Cap's defense came to play and came to hit! Offensively, I think Collins may be a genius when it comes to calling plays and Rocky made some great reads and some even better throws. I wish Cap the best of luck Saturday at Mount and I believe if they play like they did yesterday, they will beat Mount!
