Wow, I never would have guessed that Hart was only 5'9 198 ... Kmic is not bigger, but surprisingly only a few lbs lighter.

That's one small part of Hart's effectiveness - the defense can't FIND him behind the Michigan o-line! ;D

Found on Fisher website - news release about adding Mount Union to the schedule in 2008-2009 (with early warmup to the games this Saturday!):

PS - Fisher seems like a booming small college from my survey of their website.
The school graduated their first class in 1955 and have only been playing football for 20 years.  They have obviously accomplished a lot in a relatively short time.

But being a munchkin is not regarded as a positive for football purposes; it is regarded as a negative which very few men can overcome.

Pro's don't like it because of injuries ,  running backs don't last along time in the pros even with good size.

For the SJF guys sniffing around the OAC page, if you want any information on MUC you need to check out Ric's website:

It has everything you'd ever want to know about MUC (and probably some things you don't.... ;D)

Question:

I will be in Ohio for my work Christmas Party this weekend, and thus have time to go to the game.  The last two games I have seen in person are the 2005 loss to ONU and the 2004 loss to MHB.

Should I attend the game this weekend or should I keep my bad luck away from Mount Union Stadium?

You may come to the game, but you must wear wine and gold and sit in the SJF section. :D

I missed the MHB game, the St Johns Game, the ONU game and I was late last weekend.  I'm afraid to stay home anymore. 8)

A friend from church attended his first Mount Union game ever in 1999, the loss to Rowan.  He has not been back since and will not be in attendence this week.

I just want to compliment Capital for the fine football
game they played Saturday. The defense was outstanding!
I hope the Raiders will be clicking on all cylinders and keep
mistakes to a minimum this week. GO MOUNT !!!

Come think about, my in-laws came to that game and have never been to another one. See how much it bothered me ;D

Here's the link for the Democrat and Chronicle, the Rochester newspaper that will take you to the college section of their sports coverage.  I'm sure they'll have stuff leading up to the game this week.  I'm from Rochester originally, and never heard about St. John Fisher having football until after I moved away.  Really, they weren't too big into football, but then they were able to add some to their facilities, and convince the Buffalo Bills to do their training camp there.  The Bills have been in town for about 6 or 7 years now.  St. John Fisher may have only had football for about 20 years, but they didn't have a good program until even more recently than that.  It's almost like looking at the rise of some of the Texas schools like Mary Hardin Baylor or Hardin Simmons, though they have done it in even less time than St. John Fisher.

Oh, and my last game at Mount Union was also the Rowan loss in the semi's in '99.  Don't worry...a road trip from Corpus Christi, TX isn't in my plans for this week!

What a great game on Sat....  I know Rocky has made such a huge impact on Cap football and had a phenomenal career but the two players I will miss watching on Sat's are the Hausler twins.  They have such a great work ethic and bring the wood on every play.  They could be one of the best safety combos in league history.  Kyle is the best safety I have seen in a long time.

I think the comparison between MU and the Yankees is a good one and why people like to see MU lose.  The Yankees have the highest payroll and get whomever they want.  That is similar to MU who has every advantage you could ask for at this level.  They have built great tradition, they have great facilities and they get the great athlete who may not get into other schools in the league.  That's not to say they will not graduate and be successful but it is a huge advantage.  With all those advantages it is hard to root for them.  That's why everyone cheers for the Marlins or the Tigers.
