Could someone please tell me what the Whitewater coach did to garner Regional COTY honors that Mount Union's did not.

Announce his retirement at the end of the season.

Lk should have been coach of the year last year.  He took a team that wasn't suppost to be there and he won.  A great effort by all at Mt.  However,  I guess they want to spread the glory around as much as possible and I can understand their thinking.  But you can't ignore his accomplishments.  In my mind he will always be THE coach.  Once he hangs up the whistle,  his legacy will live on and no one will remember in years past what coach won what, in what year.  That is the essence of what LK has done for D3 football.  He truly may become a legend in his own time, if he isn't already.

LK showed AUPepBand some class when AUPepBand seemingly interrupted a meeting LK was having with his grad assistants. Coach Kehres invited AUPepBand right in and had a friendly chat with a few of his grad assistants chiming in on the whereabouts of Liddell.

D3 football has changed dramatically since the days when Alex Yunevich assembled some outstanding teams from the 50 to 60 players he had at Alfred thanks to his $1.35 recruiting budget. LK has certainly led the charge.

Could someone please tell me what the Whitewater coach did to garner Regional COTY honors that Mount Union's did not. They both led their respective teams to unbeaton seasons to this point and the UWW guy had more returning starters.

All LK did is beat the North Region COTY TWICE.  All he did last year was out coach the AFCA COTY in the biggest game of them all.  

Another thing, I get so tired of fans of teams that have not played Mount Union spouting off about they must play weak competition to win so much, for all we know their fast speed is normal for us I get so tired of this. I believe we have beat your beast of the east four of five times with most of the wins not even close.

The only "new" team I can remember that didn't spout off was Mary Hardin-Baylor and they did it with quiet class.

It's kind of humorous when a fan can't take an outside observation - so much so that they would say it was "classless". Come on now, let's not be too sensitive... after all, you don't have anything to prove - right? Why worry if someone believes that perhaps you play a weak schedule, or that your speed in the OAC isn't really overwhelming to someone else?

Why else have these boards? They're to talk about football, et al. If you take away someone's opinions and / or observations why have this up?

You said that only once has a teams posters done anything with a "quiet class" - Insinuating that nobody else has any.

And it's alright if think other people's observations are stupid, but that's what this board is all about. People voicing their opinions (or at least last time I checked it was).

I find it stupid that people shoot down observations that MUC's speed isn't going to be able to overwhelm a team like Fisher.

You've never played Fisher this year - so how can you compare what you've done in the past to Rowan with what will take place tomorrow? That makes no sense. You'll be surprised to see that when this thing kicks off tomorrow the Fisher boys will be much better than you think, and won't be intimidated one iota. Believe me they're coming after that crown.

Didn't say that at all PG, now your reaching for it. I said you can't compare what happened in the past to what will happen tomorrow. I also said that if someone has the opinion MUC's speed won't be a huge factor, then that's OK to have that opinion.

tags I'm sure Fisher will give it their all and play well and I am not smart enough to accuratly predict what will happen nor is anyone else.  But when people question what Mount Union has accomplished over the past 14 years as playing weak competition it is just plain stupid, they have done it at the national level and in my opinion the East Region has been the least successful of any as a whole, at the national level.  Mount Union has lost less games in 12 years than Fisher has in the past three and none of that means a hill of beans come kickoff tomorrow but to make light of it is as stupid as it gets.  What I say to those fans is go ahead and count the banners tomorrow.  Mount Union has the most championships, playoff wins and winning percentage of any team in the history of D3 and to question their strenght of schedule is stupid, period.

I know that many of my lobbied players weren't nominated but it's still strange to see a kicker who didn't garner any conference kudos be named second team all region.  I know the criteria is different.  I just wonder how some guys get nominated and others don't.
