Are we going to have a gathering at BW3's tonight? I might actually get to sneak out tonight since it's my birthday. :P I doubt I'll see anybody before the game because I have the weight room duty in the morning again tomorrow morning and will be sliding in sometime in the first quarter. Should be hanging on the south end along the wall by the main entrance as usual. If things get tight, I'll be down with the students in the south endzone. Look forward to seeing and meeting a lot of the regular posters.
Happy birthday 70sraider!!  Please cheer for me tomorrow!!  I'm still thawing out from my last visit to Alliance ;D ;D ;D
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Could someone please tell me what the Whitewater coach did to garner Regional COTY honors that Mount Union's did not. They both led their respective teams to unbeaton seasons to this point and the UWW guy had more returning starters.

They were both regional COTY by us.

All Region Team:
http://www.d3football.com/all-region/2006_d3football_all-north_region.pdf

7 Raiders on First Team
1 Raider on Second Team

Nate Kmic Offensive POY for the North Region

Congrats to all!

Interesting info, Kirasdad.  Justen Stickley played at Massillon Washington High School.  Is it true that more Washington High players win awards playing football at Mount than do players from Canton McKinley?  May it is that McKinley players win their awards at higher levels.

Most D3 fans will admit (maybe grudgingly) that Mount has a good football program and usually has quite a good performance record.  Isn't their greatness "proven" by seven of their first 25 players being named to the first team, all-region?  Ahh, but, just one of the remaining 18 players are good enough to make second or third team.  How is it that most of their players are not good enough to make even third team all-region?  Does it appear that LK has a lot of work yet to be done?

Gee, I live in Jackson Township and didn't know that Stickley was a Polar Bear.  Oh my.  So, re-phrase the question by replacing Washington High School w/Jackson High School.  That isn't as provocative, is it?

Pat
It was great to be able to spend a few minutes with you and my cyperspace friends last night. Thanks again for everything D3Sports is and will become. What a blessing for the small school athlete, alumni and fan. Hope to see you again soon.  ;)

Thanks Olinemom, Skunks Sidekick and I were just remarking about the the giant snow piles in Salem last trip that our sons scaled, so our trip to the sunny south didn't treat us much better.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Seventies - It's you birthday?  Have a great one!  In a couple more years we'll have to call you Sixties.  ;D

Jackson (massilon Jackson) has given Mount a few more players than the other massilon school,,,,,Mount has had little sucess with tiger players,,,other than BJ House of Payne

I hope to see a great game today.  Obviously, it goes without saying that I expect, and will be happy to see Mount come out on top.  There is a rumor floating that a certain player of great importance may not be able to play, or might be playing at less than 100% level for Mount.  I hope the depth of the Raiders can and will overcome this loss.

Pat C - it was great sharing a few cold ones with you last night.  Great conversation, and I have the utmost respect for what you have done with this site, and your career.  Probably not what Mom and Dad had in mind when you headed off to DC all those years ago huh?   ;D

reality check

I guess everyone's at the game or watching the video...awfully quiet in here.

SJF's QB looks like he did a lot of sucking in and squeezing to get in that jersey.

Currently Mount Union's website is down, so if you want to listen to WRMU's broadcast, try www.warpradio.com then type wrmu.

I think he overdid Thanksgiving. Noticed the same thing last week in Rochester.

I was only able to watch the first and fourth quarters - two completely different games!  MUC just wore them down, then Kmic was unstoppable.

Fisher did a good job of representing the East this year... However Mount Union is almost impossible to beat... good job Purple Raiders and good luck next WEEK.
