Will MUC be the home team this year???

Ric

beenhit2hard, I was told by the Stagg Bowl rep after the game yesterday that Mount Union will be the home team this year.

Pat, glad to see LK was North Region COTY.  Your initial release said Collins won it again this year.

Pat Coleman

Copy/paste error. The front page listed the COTYs correctly.

The release also listed Andy Studebaker as being from Mount Union, also an obvious error.

I couldn't believe the clarity of the video and audio of the MUC/SJF game! What a great early Christmas present. I figured it would be choppy and hard to watch, but I was very impressed.

I actually like having it this way over viewing it on television. I had several projects to work on and just carried my laptop from room to room so I could watch and work at the same time. Thanks to ncaasports.com and the D3announcers. You guys sounded like you've been doing this for years!

Also, I've enjoyed listening to WRMU for other games. Two weeks ago when it was so nice outside, I had my laptop on a box in the front yard and listened to the game while hanging lights.

I also have a cell card, so for the first Capital game I had to pick up my daughters at the dance studio several miles away. I just connected with my Verizon card and put the laptop on the passenger's seat. I was able to listen to the game while I drove! Gotta love the Internet.

I guess the whole point of my post is, with the Internet and the great feeds from WRMU and ncaasports.com, I am able to follow the Purple Raiders much more closely than ever. Waiting to see the scores in the Sunday paper just wasn't making it. I live in Columbus, Ohio and the most we ever would get in the paper was one paragraph in the Ohio Wrap-up football section.

Ric, thanks for the info,,,  I guess MUC will be in Black jerseys

Great game by both teams, very exiciting.  Kmic looks better on "TV" than in person.  If he stays healthy, he'll definitely get a look from the Pros.  He's got that movement/vision in the hole that you can't teach.  He make a good "Meggett" type player in the NFL IMHO.

Just want to say to the SJF faithful, your fan base was just terrific, even though i was in the west stands it was loud and clear who we were playing!! Great show of fan support and hope you had a wonderful time. I'm sure, looking at your roster, you'll be in the hunt again next year and look forward to season play between both in 2008!

It was a fun day and fun environment to be in - thanks for having us. MUC is such a tough team to beat... Best of luck in Salem.

...Although I must say that not being able to use the front entrance makes no sense at all - What's up with that?

Wow, that's all I can say. Another December drive to Roanoke/Salem for another season finale. Another awesome playoff run by another awesome Mount Union team. Let me say I NEVER take these guys for granted. From trainers to coaches to JV's to Starters, they all deserve all the credit and respect in the world.
I didn't start smiling till there was about 6 minutes left in the game, about the time I met Kirasdad in the South end after trying to field a PAT. It never gets old and God forbid I ever take any of this for granted.

Pat
Thank goodness to the safety. There was a group of villagers with torches coming to the press box to remove you and your jinx if it was tied at the half. In defense of those who liked the Mount on-air crew, they really were exceptional this year. A cut far above the average college broadcasters. Good work WRMU. :)

Was great to have a chance to meet and greet so many D3 posters this weekend - See y'all in Salem

PS what's up with not being able to use the front entrance? Sounds like a hoax

I watched the web TV broadcast, but had to listen to the slightly delayed audio from WRMU.
Our guys at WRMU were FAR SUPERIOR in their audio coverage.  I turned the web TV broadcast sound off at the half.  Those guys were putting me to sleep.

Wow, that's harsh.

Sorry that a neutral broadcast was so distasteful to you. Stick with the homers, that's fine.

I listened to the WRMU broadcast while watching the video webcast because the WRMU broadcast was approximately 15 seconds ahead of the video.  I guess I am an impatient person.  Well, I know I am (the paint can says "allow 3-4 hours to dry," and after 45 minutes, I am already applying the second coat or at the next level of the project).  Around the end of the 3rd quarter, there was approximately a five second difference.  By the end of the game, the video was 3-4 seconds AHEAD of WRMU.  (Maybe it is the Louisiana time warp, where Calvin Coolidge is still President down here).  Knowing what was coming on the play, I routinely turned up the webcast volume to hear Pat's call, and especially to hear the commentary during the replays.
I, like many others, have listened to WRMU all season, and have commented quite favorably on the job that they do.  Even with the technical difficulties (PSAs, oldie songs, and commercials that suddenly start playing in the background or take over the broadcast), that I imagine are beyond the control of the guys in the booth, I have enjoyed and appreciated the enthusiasm and professionalism (at their level of experience) that are evident in their game-day performances.  (With respect to technical difficulties, it is not uncommon to hear "dead air" or simultaneous audio emissions from professionally trained and manned radio stations that operate for profit.)
My choice of WRMU did not really have anything to do with choosing  a broadcast based upon partiality.  I have remarked before that I have found the WRMU broadcasters' enthusiasm remarkably equal during the big play of a MUC opponent, and it always sounds like they give credit where credit is do.  I might be going from room to room within the house, and hear the WRMU broadcast team getting excited about something, and figure the MUC D must have intercepted, or Garcon or Kmic are on a big jaunt down the field, only to rush back to the "office" and find that it was a big play by the opposition.  I believe that they try their professional best to be "neutral," but hey, that is their school in the game and their classmates/friends  down on the field.  Further, if they were 100% neutral, I would prefer a bit of WRMU's slightly unpolished, still learning "rock-n-roll" broadcast approach over Pat's polished "easy listening" delivery.  If Ric's broadcast was equally available to me on the web, I would be in a pickle, as his enthusiasm is outrageous (in a GOOD way ... from listening to the highlights that he posts on his web site).  Broadcaster's demeanor ... listener's preference ... whatever.
In my opinion, runyr's description of "FAR SUPERIOR" may not be what he really meant to say, or be 100% accurate in my opinion, but Pat's response may have been a bit too "quick."  I know that Pat works hard and takes great pride in what he does, and anyone that has his web site bookmarker applauds and appreciates it.  However, a knee-jerk reaction to criticism ... well, that is one of my weaknesses too!
