I highly doubt capital would be a 6pt favorite over Fisher anywhere...ask Mount fans who they would rather play and it would be capital...When you play a team twice you shoud normally split it...I believe that if Mount was at fisher this year...it would have been a close game but fisher would have squeaked it out...that's how close these two teams were....as I hope any mount fan would say...the game was very close and the only reason it ended up being a 12 point win is because the blocked field goal destroyed any momentum fisher had

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Thanks for the links!  Did anyone notice that Mount Union was referred to as the Eagles instead of the Raiders in the second article? DIII will always have trouble getting the respect it deserves.

I would rather play SJFU again than Capital.  Hard to beat a team 3X in one season.

Kirasdad I agree with you that it is hard to beat a team 3 times in one season  but look at what fisher has done to springfield...they would make someone esle but Kmic beat them they would gameplan to stop Kmic and they would have already seen what Kmic could do....

On the last touchdown drive, was there anyone east of the Mississippi who didn't know that Kmic was going to get the ball on every down? It made no difference.

I agree that the blocked field completely turned the momentum that fisher had into mount union momentum. In my opinion, the turning point of the game.

If they didn't game plan for Kmic then the line would move to 17 vs Cap.  Thats like saying they wouldn't game plan stop Caps passing offense.  I would think watching Kmic run for miles that it might be pretty important to stop him.

superman57

Capital would not beat this year's Fisher team....done nuff said... Capital lost the first time they played MU 38-12  (?)  for not the blocked field goal this game could have been 19-14 or anything around their a hard fought game...Capital would not beat fisher...

How do you come into a National Semi final with a trip to the Stagg on the line and not game plan to stop a running back that rushed for 200+ in each of the previous 3 playoff games.  Did the coaches not watch film, or just figured that they had to stop the passing game that has been sleeping for a few weeks now.  "you cant stop their run, you can only hope to contain it" Coach Collins.  How would they stop Kimic, no one has and I highly doubt anyone will.  It makes no sense that Fisher didnt know they needed to stop Kimic, they couldnt and would not be able to the next time around.  I would rather play fisher again.

Small but Slow

In SJF's defense, no defense can game plan to stop any single aspect of that offense without consideration of the other.  It's pick your poison!  How many men did SJF stack in the box?

well i'll tell you there were times i saw 9 in the box...post a few Kmic runs!  I'll tell you though too, if there gets to be 9 in the box, LK will burn you serious sooner or later, most likely sooner!

Small but Slow

If 9 in the box held him to 370+ yards, just imagine if SJF had respected the passing game.  It surely gave UWW something to think about this week!

I thought they might try a keeper. :)

Uhm, I only had two and a half beers Friday night, not enough to forget promising press box passes. Besides, it's supposed to be a nice day. You'll be fine outside.

I know the guy that creates that, and yes he is one of the purple suit guy.  If i know him like i do, he'll have one out about Whitewater soon.  That or right after the Stagg Bowl is over.

Where is everyone staying overnight at?  I'm looking for a cheap room for the night.  Just wondering what prices I can get down there.

Quality Inn Salem is about the cheapest I've found. Not sure if they have rooms left though. $64 for king, $69 double. I believe there is a Stagg Bowl rate. Its about 2 miles from the Stadium. Hope this helps. I think it is listed as one of the hotels on the StaggBowl site linked from the front page. ;)
