Sorry PG, can you show me where DI transfer was ever mentioned? You love to play people off of others my man. I was talking about the talent they get to come to MUC - not transfers.

The point was they draw DI type talent, hence they win consistently. Bad comment to make? I guess so.

That, sir, is the famous MUC-caw.  As in a play on the idea of the pirate with a parrot (maccaw) on his shoulder.  Seems that the PR people found the nasty Pirate Raider logo (and also the Smeeish fat guy one that was still floating around) wasn't "fan friendly" so they came up with this play on words quite a few years ago.  Who am I to argue--the little kids love it--and it allows for some fun antics on the sidelines with the cheerleaders.

ok...I guess...it's still reall weird and I have no issues with the color purple considering my high school and city I grew up in had purple as their color but it's a huge purple blob...

The Mount mascot is named MUCaw.  How did they come up with that?

Well....the Raider is a pirate.  When I was in school the car window decals actually had a pirate with a macaw on his shoulder.  Thus the mascot.  It's the bird that sits on the pirate's shoulder. (You may have noticed that the guy running the Raider flag up and down the sideline was dressed in pirate garb.  You may also have noticed the skull and cross bones design of Mounts helmet stickers.)

Why a macaw?  Read Treasure Island.

superman 57   theaprof gave you the official line on the mascot.  What it really is a big purple CHICKEN!  Can you believe it?  Ranks right up there with Slider the Cleveland Indians mascot.
