Not impressed with the AP list honestly.  Rockyholics everywhere...this is a travesty!

Not impressed with the Around the Nation for this week.  I can understand the reasoning in most of the categories, but the DB's?  Is he just talking about overall advantage or just for this game? Even if it is just for this game the Raiders have to have the advantage.  McMillan gave no reason why WWW has the advantage. A little tired from the plane ride to Salem?

Are you coming to the Wyndham on friday?
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I hope those "better" DB's can fly to the ball and tackle because they should be very afraid of Kmic and not the passing game.

As in every big game where the tail of tape is so close I take the big guys in the trenches to win this game, and as already stated Mounts got that wrapped up pretty solid.

I'm sure Rocky's inability to beat mount played in the decision not pick him.  ;D

Despite the "mounting" number of awards Rocky hasn't won, I'll bet my Stagg Bowl Ticket he's on the D3 All-American team.

I don't know maybe its just me but I took it that the UWW advantage was due to Garcon's status being questionable and Mt. Union not throwing that much lately. MUC's DBs may be better but if Garcon has 1 catch for 3 yrds this week, MUC's Dbs will be much more tested than Whitewater's. Now if Mount's DBs shut down the UWW recievers, then there will be no question which ones were better. ;)

"Stickley is a unique player," explained Vucelich. "He is one of the more athletic and smartest players on our team and he makes the defense work. I think we compliment each other because we are such good friends, we trust in each other's abilities and we know we can count on each other."

Much to the dismay of opposing quarterbacks.

The Raiders QB's and recievers are grossly underestimated in the Around the Nation article.Jorris and those boys can really light it up.The Purples will score in the 40's,I dont think WW will.

KMack-Bring us some of what your smoking-Justin Jacobs is a journeyman QB at best. So he had a career day against an apparently poorly prepared Wesley team, his numbers still don't justify high praise. At the end of the regular season Jorris was second in passing efficency and Jacobs was 27th.  Lets not let the facts confuse us. I doubt Jacobs is going to have a lot to time to find open receivers on Saturday. He is going to be awfully busy back there.

It would be silly for Keith to fly seeing as he's about 190 miles from Salem.

Keith has seen both teams play live and in person this season. I am OK with his expertise. What Mount Union fans have seen UWW play in person this year?

Being a north region guy I would consider myself a Mount Union fan. I watched the stagg last year on TV and have seen UWW 2x this year in person at the perk. The biggest difference in the matchups in this game in my opinion is the MUC defense against the UWW offense. I think MUC has a big advantage here with their speed. I would consider the MUC db's as excellent run defenders and tacklers. their safeties read the run extremely well and make a lot of tackles near the LOS. UWW's qb seems streaky to me. he looked great in last years stagg and against wesley. I didn' think he played particularly well against St John's but a big part of that was the play calling IMO. whenever UWW offense opened up the offense vs st johns they moved the ball. they called a very conservative game vs the Johnnies from what i could see. against wesley they threw the ball down the field early and efficiently. But even then at least 2 of Jacobs throws should have been interceptions particularly the second touchdown to stanley on the post pattern. Jacobs threw it into coverage and the wesley safety didn't see it.

I like muc in this game primarily because of the raider defense. I think UWW has a defense that can limit MUC's opportunities.

I am glad to see the Raider faithful filled with confidence - I wish I could share in that. I love the Raiders and listen to the games rather than watch D1 anything. However, I am very nervous about this Stagg Bowl. I know that the Raiders can light it up with the passing game; and Kmic - enough said. The Raiders have been extremely one dimensional for the past few games and it makes me wonder what is going on. UWW is an excellent team, they have been to the Stagg before, played Mount before - and have seen Kmic. Yes, Kmic will get his yards but MUC needs to be able to throw the ball this week. UWW is too good to face with only a running game. UWW's defense was quick last year and is pretty much the same unit this year. I can only assume they are even better.
Mount's D will keep the game tight - but the offense has to break out and be balanced to win.
Questions I have: Where has Jorris been? Why is it Micheli can not seem to throw? If Garcon is restricted, who is the recieving threat?
I don't have numbers but after Garcon's 50+ and 1,100 yards - it is a big fall to the number 2.
I hope MUC pulls it off - I will always have faith that LK 'has something' special in store - but I worry this may not be the year. UWW has the balance that Mount has been missing. That having been said -

Go Raiders! Prove me an idiot that was worried for no reason (PLEASE!).
