Mt.s defense to prevail :   Mt. 17   WWW 14    I see Mt's defense stopping a late WW drive to seal victory for the Raiders.

I think UWW will keep it close early, but Mount will wear them down with a heavy dose of Kmic.  However, if it is going to be a nice day I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 long TD's passes to Garcon off of play action.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Mount came out in a spread, hurry-up offense, throwing the ball like it was going out of style?   ;D

(Don't say I didn't warn you!)

Mount will put Micheli at QB, Morring at FB, and Kmic and Wray at RB, and run the Wing-T.  Why do you think they hired Keith Wakefield? :o

Sidekick, we're gonna miss you and Alex bud. I promise you I'll be in one of those endzone camera shots. Look for the old bald guy in the middle of the shirtless students. Coming  to an ESPN Zone near you.

Seventies,

The wife and I can't make the trip this year.  :(  Have a safe trip down and back and bring home a winner! ;D

OU#25

If I was WW...I would be concerned.  They can gameplan to try to stop Kmic and that's fine.  14 other teams have attempted to do that same thing.  But the real question is what will they plan for next?  I don't think they have any clue about what formations Mount will run or about the tempo of the playcalling.  In fact, I believe some of the vanilla playcalling has been intentional in order to limit the scouting against them for this very situation.  Mount can create offensive identities on the fly and WW knows this fact.

Historically the game is controlled and won in the trenches and Mount has a distinct advantage on both sides of the ball in these areas as D3 Keith outlined.  Additionally, I would take Kmic over Beaver right now and the multi-headed QB system of Mount's over Jacobs and WW.  Jorris was better then Jacobs last season head to head and the dimension of Micheli is the X factor that WW cannot simulate with their scout team.

Of course I was joking when I posted this, but the more I think about it, with Mount's personnel the Wing-T would be very formidable.

Small but Slow

OU#25 - good point - The Mount offense is in a constant state of evolution, the result of playing 14-15 games per year the past 12 years.  Each additional game each season gives the staff and players an extra five practices to develop and evolve.  To properly prepare for the game WW should look at film of all 14 games this season.  They could see all or any part of it tomorrow, or something totally different.

I probably don't have the time, I shouldn't spend the money, I'm not in the greatest health, but I wouldn't miss it for the world. I did contract work for the Norfolk Southern Corp in Roanoke for decades and have a bunch of friends meeting me there, so it should be a good time. Anyway, Kevin wanted to go.

I am concerned with Mount's offensive balance only that they are able to run to the left as well as the right and both inside and off tackle.

Ok...I am off to catch a plane to Chicago.  I will check in online sometime in the next day or so.  I WILL be at the ESPN Zone in downtown Chicago by gametime.

Have fun all!

My useless and wrong prediction:

Mount Union 27
Whitewater 21

and Garcon gets a TD tomorrow too

i think that playing Fisher last week helped with preparing to stop Beaver in the backfield.  I know i posted last week about Fisher's RB being the best back that mount has seen all year.  Well, now i think that Fisher RBis the second best back that Mount will see this season.  I think that Knic will put up similiar numbers compared to Beaver tomorrow.
