Thanks Ric.  It sure seemed like more than that from what I saw on TV, including the widescreen shots.  A very good crowd, though, and I'm glad you guys had a great time (including the win, of course! ;)) Wish I could have attended the game this year.

How fortunate are we to be Raider fans?  I can't stop thinking about it all, the phenomenon of Mount Union football.  There is nothing like it in all of sports.  What a great Christmas present for everybody in the Purple Raider Nation!

Key to the game:
It happened in my living room.  At halftime, I knew we needed a change, so I switched from my double extra large '93 Stagg Bowl sweatshirt (purchased a few years ago on ebay) to my black with purple letters Raiders pullover windbreaker.  It worked like a charm!  ::)

What a game . . . kinda scary that we were only up one point at half.  We are def not used to that.  And we were losing at one point in the game.  I beleive that was the first time all year we were losing in a game.  Good thing it didnt finish that way.  I was at the game and was glad i didnt miss it.  Good to see mtfan and seventies there also.  Hopefully see you all in Salem again next year

And Stone Station, awsome food

Speaking of questionable officiating?  How the heck did they call facemask on Zimmerman on that KO return?  He did NOT grab the facemask.  Looked like the shoulderpads to me.  Not like it made too much of a difference, but at least he gave the D a chance to stop them.  Great Hustle!

Congrats to the Purple Raiders.

I have not had a chance to watch the game yet but looking forward to it.

Simply an incredible program.

Congrats to Crusader26 for winning the OAC Playoff Pick-Em's.

Oh, and to the Raiders for winning Title #9. ;D

Said it during the game, and still believe 100% that it's true that LK had been purposely sand-bagging Micheli's passing abilities for the Stagg Bowl against WWW.  With the great MUC defense and running game, he had enough to beat Wheaton, Capital and SJF with only half of an offense.  But knew that wouldn't be enough for WWW.  Capital and SJF might have been closer on the final score board, but don't let that fool you.  Whitewater was the best team MUC played in 2006 by a WIDE margin, and would have easily dominated Capital and SJ Fisher.  My top 5 would be:
1.  Mount
2.  Whitewater
3.  Capital
4.  St John Fisher
5.  St John's (MN)

Once again, LK proves that he's a genius when it comes to preparing a team and calling a game.  Congrats to the Raider Nation!

HSCoach - everyone thought I was "deaking them" when I said Mount would throw early and often.  It's nice when you get lucky enough to get a tiny glimpse of what is the genious that is Kehres.

I said before the game that my question regarding WW was Jacobs.  I thought he was mediocre at best last year, and really get antsy under pressure.  He showed that glaringly today.  He continually tried to go up top (at times a guy was open but he missed them) and forced many passes.

Soooo.....let's see.  Micheli, Kmic, and Garcon (to name a few) for next year.  Hmmm...wonder what Mount's chances are?   ;D ;D

Ditto on your top 4.  Didn't see St. John but I'll let the UWW people sort out UMHB, ST Johns and UWL.

Now you know why I came back from the Wednesday practice so pumped. You saw last night what I saw Wednesday, only better. :o

congrats to the Capital All-Americans...Special congrats to Josh Kinard and Rocky Pentello....

A FEEL GOOD STORY
Kinard- A 2 year starter for Capital came a long way to capture All-American status... He was a promising young lineman out of Lancaster H.S that was easily the best in his class... He had a stellar season as the starting center for the capital jv as a freshman... Things looked good for his soph year but with issues including injuries and confidence he decided to switch to defense... Kinard played the remainder of the season as a scout team d-lineman...As offseason workouts began, players began telling Kinard he needed to switch back to offense because he would be  key in taking Capital to the post season... He finally decided to come back and the rest is history... With his ability to pick up the blitz he earned the respect of both coaches and players... Congrats Josh on all your accomplisments

reality check

Congrats to all three OAC'ers who were on the victorious Team USA in yesterday's Aztec Bowl.  The final score was 28-7.

JCU's Joe Konrad led Team USA in receiving with 3 grabs for 58 yards and a 35 yard TD.

ONU's Jason Trusnik finished the game second on the team in tackles with 8 and had 1.5 TFL and 1 sack.

Musky's Jack Junker chipped in with 6 tackles, a 17 yard sack, 1 forced fumble and a blocked punt.

Great job to all those OAC'ers not playing in Salem yesterday!!!

I say the same...it's not only the winning that is so impressive about Mount but how it's done year after year. The dedication of every coach and assistant is truly remarkable. I'll go out on a limb here and say...Monty is not missed!  ;)

With LK sharing more of the duties I think it has energized him more too...he seems to be having more fun.

BTW I was told the officials were from the NCAC.  Overall not a bad job for the couple catches I thought they had wrong.  How about Mount Union though, no penalties in the second half after hurting themselves in the first numerous times.

Ric,
You're correct about those blown calls on Stanley and Garcon.  Additionally on one of Jorris' picks...the playclock had clearly expired on the ESPN broadcast prior to the snap.  That play should have been reviewed, Mount penalized... retaining possession.
