I think the picture of the two coaches in the new banner after the game simply says it all.  A picture can be worth a thousand words.  Excellent choice!

Inapplicable to DIII.
Every year MUC has about 100 freshmen men come to campus to play football.  Of course not all make it through four year s of football but most stay in school and graduate and pay $25K each per year to do so.  Some get financial aid some do not.  But when you have 1200 men in a school and between a quarter and a third came for football as at least one of the significnat decision makers it is difficult to say that this does not have a big impact.  If they all paid full tuition Room and Board over four years this would be in the neighborhood of $40 million.  In many schools sports may not make a financial advantage to the school but it is clear to see that at MUC it has a real benefit.

Mr. Ypsi

rc,

Is the staff actively recruiting Payton for the defensive line?  (Or, since I would assume he must be named in honor of Walter Payton, any danged position he wants!)

I went to the Canton Legends game Friday evening. Jesse Wells played alot, going both ways and on offense as a center. Justen Stickley played offense, primarily as a blocker but did carry the ball 4 times for 16 yards and one TD.  It was very entertaining. The Legends won. They are 2-0 for the year.

It's too bad your bears didn't show that same agressiveness last year during the season. The outcome may have been a little closer.....LOL.

Just another little insight tidbit during the offseason, Jr. says Marietta pays a lot more attention to off season lifting than Ohio Wesleyan ever did. I have found also that he is asked to do a lot more community service at Marietta compared to OWU. I'm not intending to put OWU down but just show some differences.  Go Pioneers!

PurpleSuit

to go off topic for a second; there is going to be try-outs for new members of the Purple Suit Guys coming up in March.  I am in the process of making a test for the new applicants involving history of Mount Union football.  i was wondering if any of the Mount fans had any ideas of any questions to ask the new recruits

Longest Pass Play (From, To, Yards) Anyone who claims to be a Raider fan should know this one.

1970, 95 yards from Larry Kehres to Bruce Cartwright against Ohio Northern.

How bout one a little tougher... Pierre Garcon threw a touchdown pass this year.  Who was the last non-QB to throw a TD pass for Mount Union?

MUCRaker

Who is/was known as the John Carrol Killer?
Hint: Check out Ric's web site.
