JK

yes, the off season is upon us, and it does suck.

Although, I was rather ejoying this game of "MUC Football trivia challenge."  Perhaps we can pass offseason time by expanding this little game to the entire OAC?

Here are a couple of starter questions:

Who was the last OAC team before MUC to win a Stagg Bowl and the year?

Five OAC teams have an all-time OAC winning percentage over .500, who are they?

The OAC was broken into divisions and played a championship game from what year to what year?

There are two current OAC schools that do not have a winning record against any other current OAC schools.  Who are they?

Which current OAC school has had the most number of players selected to All-OAC first teams?

The OAC has awarded the Mike Gregory award since 1956 to two players.  What positions must those players be?

Who was the OAC coach of the year in 2005?

There we go.  That should be a good start.  Answer away...

JK

Here is another good one that I couldn't resist:

Only one OAC coach has been named coach of the year at two different current OAC schools.  Who is he, what schools did he win the award at, and what were the years?

Seventies,

That may well have been because you spelled his name wrong.

Jay Vs Jae ...see Ric in previous post.

I knew Hugh for almost 40 years, the last name is definately JAE. ;)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Here's a question for you guys.

How many, if any, Post Pattern regulars are in the Mount Union "M Club" Hall of Fame?  And if so, what years were each of them inducted?

I guess Im not REGULAR enough to get into the HOF. What does the "M" stand for...MILLIONAIRES? That leaves me out! In the words of the great Groucho Marx....." I would never belong to a club that would have ME for a member!"

On a more serious note.....Perci Garner reportedly has expressed interest in attending MUC...even over D2/D1 schools.  Capital is trying to persuade him otherwise. Who do you guys think will win out? Garner has a good arm and is shifty too. This is a good one to watch.

That's the kid from Dover, right?  In Mount's favor are the rings and Matt Rees.  In Capital's favor is an appearantly open QB position.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

You can't overlook Assman.  Don't ever forget the Assman.

Is it just me or is anyone else worried the regional links for football on the d3sports.com/post page will soon be below the intramural badminton and beer pong message boards?

RC,

Good research, but the on-line list you found doesn't include "Honorary Members".

And all of us D3 posters are blessed to be in the company of the 2002 M-Club Honorary Inductee for his stellar support of Mount Union Athletics:

RIC BRIENZA  (aka, The Ric)

See below for info on the selection process:

Each year, Mount Union College honors a select group of former student-athletes, coaches and athletic supporters with induction into the M Club Hall of Fame during a ceremony luncheon. Campus recognition of the inductees takes place during half-time of the football game. There are three categories of membership: M Club Hall of Fame, M Club Award of Excellence and Honorary M Club member.

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee reviews the criteria used for Hall of Fame selection and decided that the following guidelines would continue to be used as the basis for selection:

"The record and character of the individual must be so outstanding that there is no question as to his or her qualifications."

If playing with an assman is an enticement for Garner, then I'm not sure I want him in Alliance.  Capital can have him.

As an old center myself, I wonder what Marty's center thinks about bending over in front of an assman?  Things that make you go "hmmmm...."

For the Capital folks, please see the silver lining of the last couple posts as proof that we've officially dropped the "Rocky is old" jokes. ;D

According to the 2006 OAC Football Media Guide, the game was played from 1972-1983 with teams playing in the Blue and Red divisions.
