kirasdad,
When I look at all those years of OAC championships in plain view at the bottom of your posts, all I can think about is how lucky Mount Union is that other OAC teams show up every year.  I tip my hats to them all.  Without those games, Mount couldn't do it.  I mean that sincerely.  The OAC is the best.

Is it just me or is anyone else worried the regional links for football on the d3sports.com/post page will soon be below the intramural badminton and beer pong message boards?

As long as we stay above Women's LaCrosse ;D

BTW What kind of emblem does the M on Ric's letter jacket have?

Kirasdad,

you are correct on the two questions you answered.  Two gold stars and +karma for you.

Anyone know the answers to the others?  I'll post answers to any unanswered questions on Monday.

2005 OAC Coach of the Year: Joe Loth, Otterbein

Mike Gregory goes to most outstanding offensive back and most outstanding offensive lineman if I am not mistaken

I really respect the OAC coaches for giving the COTY honors to a guy that showed that much improvement, it says alot about the character of what a COTY is. From what I've heard about the MUC H.C. he could win it every year not only for his victories but also for his personality and sportsmanship. hats off to them and thiers...

That being said, I still hope someone from the CCIW wins against the OAC next year ;)

Good luck in the offseason

Five OAC teams have an all-time OAC winning percentage over .500, who are they?

Mount, BW, Northern, John Carroll and Muskingum

So who is the longest continuous member of the OAC

Longest continuous? I believe that's Mount Union.

Correct, although Raider66 always argued that it was Ohio State because they have never actually withdrawn from the OAC, although I think it's safe to say they're gone.

For the Capital folks, please see the silver lining of the last couple posts as proof that we've officially dropped the "Rocky is old" jokes. ;D

I always heard Rocky was more of a boob-guy anyways.

It's kind of ordered by which of our three sites are most in season, you probably noticed. :)

Re: All-time losing records

I'll go out on a limb here and say the OAC will only have one team with a losing record all-time against all it's OAC foes after the 2007 season.

Pat

Just a joke...unless there really is an intramural badminton message board.

Thanks HSCoach for then nice comments, brings a tear to my eye.  You're now welcome back in the hot tub.

Here's one, try to answer it without looking it up...

In Larry Kehres' 21 year career he is 246-20-3.  That's less losses than years if you didn't notice. (WOW)

Anyway, how many teams have managed to beat his team two consecutive times and who might they be?
Augustana and LaCrosse?  (I swear I didn't look it up on your website, but I will.)

I checked Ric's website:

Denison '88 & '89
La Crosse '92 & '95 (playoffs)

I was half right about Augustana.  Mount lost to them in '85 & '86, but Ken Wable was still coach in '85.  Coach Kehres took the loss in '86.

Rocky Pentello may be done, but his name will linger on. Ohio State has a recruit named....what else....Rocco Pentello! If we have to hear that name for 4 more years he better be GOOD! ::)  Could it be THAT hard to come up with a new first name for Pentello children? If the cops ever put out an APB for a Rocky Pentello there is going to be a quite few to sift through. Arent there 4 of those already? CAPS Rocky had kids....there might be 5!

As far as I know, Rocco's Dad, Rocky Pentello, is still the head coach at Westerville South, my wife's alma mater. We won't be getting away from that name for some time to come.

How many, if any, Post Pattern regulars are in the Mount Union "M Club" Hall of Fame?  And if so, what years were each of them inducted?
Bueller?  Bueller?  Bueller?

I couldn't pick any out:
http://www.muc.edu/alumni/m_club/hall_of_fame/m_club_hall_of_fame_members

RC,

Good research, but the on-line list you found doesn't include "Honorary Members".

And all of us D3 posters are blessed to be in the company of the 2002 M-Club Honorary Inductee for his stellar support of Mount Union Athletics:

RIC BRIENZA  (aka, The Ric)

See below for info on the selection process:

Each year, Mount Union College honors a select group of former student-athletes, coaches and athletic supporters with induction into the M Club Hall of Fame during a ceremony luncheon. Campus recognition of the inductees takes place during half-time of the football game. There are three categories of membership: M Club Hall of Fame, M Club Award of Excellence and Honorary M Club member.

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee reviews the criteria used for Hall of Fame selection and decided that the following guidelines would continue to be used as the basis for selection:

"The record and character of the individual must be so outstanding that there is no question as to his or her qualifications."

Enterprise is on that list and is a sometimes poster here.

to go off topic for a second; there is going to be try-outs for new members of the Purple Suit Guys coming up in March.  I am in the process of making a test for the new applicants involving history of Mount Union football.  i was wondering if any of the Mount fans had any ideas of any questions to ask the new recruits

Loved the Purple suit guys at the Stagg Bowl!!  They were great!!  70's Raider, I'm pining away for some of those Buckeyes you brought to the Tailgate.  They were so tasty!!
