Funny stuff from over on the SCIAC board.

Division III

Apparently not new - but new to me and maybe to some of you - AND it's football related.  8)

Found this on the WIAC board...

That is way too funny 8)

I can picture all the coaches I just forwarded that to trying not to laugh out loud during class.  Mucho plus karma
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Rocky may want to hold off celebrating his new position in Marion

Mayhem sign former Buckeyes Quarterback

Yeah, and isn't Jackson younger than Rocky? ;D ;)

Excellent.  Even the CCIW folks are getting into it.......

I forgot all about Stanley Jackson.  He did an autograph session when I was in high school at the athletic shoe store I worked at with fellow Buckeye Pepe Pearson.  I remember him being a little upset that noone was running through walls to get his autograph.  I hope he has come down to earth a little as he's gotten older.  I mean he hasn't played in the CFL since 2004 and his next move is to the Marion Mayhem?!?

Maybe the Mayhem feel Rocky needs an older tutor at the QB position and try as they might, they couldn't find anyone old enough to fit that bill until 32 year old Stanley Jackson popped up at their doorstep.  Apparently Herbstreit wasn't interested.

OUCH...thats a low blow

In an effort to keep the OAC page from the bottom of the list I am pleased to post that Wilmington alums Brandon Tisdale and Jonathon Cain are playing for the Cincinnati Marshals (who for some odd reason play their home games at Hara Arena in Dayton).  I guess they more or less replaced the Dayton Bulldogs and play in the NIFL.  They won their first game and played today but no score has been posted.

And I know it's been covered but the Legends still have MUC alums Wells and Stickley (blinged out by the way, not sure how he can afford such big diamonds in his ears on Legends pay) as well as ONU's JR Cipra.

Of course, there's Matt D'Orazio in the AFL but I didn't find any new info on OAC alums on any other arena rosters in the midwest.  Just some info since it's otherwise slow and painful these days.

World? How about the universe? There are some aliens on mars, who really can coach!

raiderguy

Purple,

Why so pessimistic? We might as well tell all of D3 football to red shirt the '07 season. Hand over the Walnut and Bronze and get ready for '08. How's that looking?
Geez, I'm a fan too but ......
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Mr. Ypsi

Yeah, geez - you think you're Kenyon swimming or something! ;D

We should just get LK and Jim Steen together for a round-robin tourney of some sort to settle who's the best coach in any sport.  I'm thinking a modified pentathlon of sorts: arm wrestling, monopoly, a chili cookoff, horsehoes and win, lose or draw.  Best of five to settle who the best coach in the history of college athletics really is.

It is great to be able to see the Pios practice. I know it is baseball season and in Marietta that is a major season. I still love being at the stadium watching the pigskin fly. I'm not purple but I am blue and optimistic. Go Blue! Go Pioneers!

Thought I'd give you a little update on some Polar Bear alumni; Franzer is still the QB for Port Huron in the CIFL and Hostetler is on the roster for Rochester, also of the CIFL.  Hos was listed as a DL and didn't have a number assigned yet.  (Had to have been a typo).  Midlam has been working with the first unit at strong side corner for the Louisville Fire of the Arena 2 league, although I  heard he started at the safety spot in their scrimmage against Cincinnati, due to an injury to their starting safety.  Also he may have sprained an ankle in that scrimmage.

I know you like to stay informed!!!

Thanks for the udpates.  I was wondering about Midlam.  I hadn't heard anything since his time with the Memphis Xplorers and the search I did on Franzer came up empty.  I forgot about Port Huron though.  And I would pay money to see Hos play on the D-Line.  You didn't mention Vagedes though who I see listed on Port Huron's roster as well.

Two more Wilmington College guys playing for the Miami Valley Silver Backs (CIFL) in Stan West (OL) and Billy Back (WR).
