Pat Coleman needs to boot either -hscoach or reality check- or both of these clowns off this board for posting a comment page 687 re:kyle Simmons and signing my name of "stoonk".I stoonk ,did not post this comment.

Are you having a hard time now that you've been limited to one username?

I think your longtime use of multiple handles to talk to yourself on this board and the SCIAC board invalidates any complaints you want to make about others' posts.

I just couldn't resist...

Hey that OAC preview is awesome...I'm a CCIW guy myself and its always cool to check out the other conferences...one of my folks got a B.A. at Muskingum and I had a cousin go to Wilmington (but he didn't play ball)

Awesome work

If Marrietta can hold their own against the Johnnies on their home turf, I might tend to agree that the OAC has improved this year.   If they get monkey stomped [ which I think they will]  then the lower tier has a way to go.  The Johnnies are probably not a good measuring stick for this sort of thing.

No one at Wilmington really does.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

bushman: Question, are you saying everyone below MUC and lets say Capital is a lower tiered team? MARIETTA tied for 4th place with wins over BW and at ONU last year, not bad for a lower tiered team. Are you also saying you are going to grade the whole OAC bottom tier on how the Pios do against the Johnnies? What is your basis? What I think is important is that Marietta is not afraid to schedule them even though they are so good and so far away, not to mention they only get one out of conference game. No matter how the Johnnies game turns out, Marietta will gain from its experience and hopefully carry it over to play in one of the toughest football conferences in the country. Here is my measuring stick, how well everyone plays against MUC and each other for the pool c bid. IMHO, there is 7 teams in the OAC vying for a playoff spot. I say that is a pretty darn good conference.

I appreciate the kind comments guys, Mark deserves the credit. I thought his '06 Raider preview was well done but this may have topped that.

Dover High QB , Percy  not going to Mt. Union as was previously reported.  Word on the street from Dover is he has committed to Capital.   I guess he wants to play asap.

Hmmm, guess he wants to lose ASAP too.

OAC preview was nicely done.... Only one error in the Capital section... The best linebacker to play at Capital was def. Ron Swearingin... I want to say he was a 3 time All-American... Joel was very good and may of hit harder, but Ronnie controlled the field.. He moved liked a DB and was built like Defensive end.... I had the chance to play and practice with both for each of their 2 varsity seasons

I think Joel was mentionedonly because he came from Mount

Thats got to be hard on a program going from  9-1 thier final year in the HCAC to a bottom feeder of a program in the OAC.

Good catch on Swearingin.  Too bad he didn't play with the same level of talent that Capital has now.

hscoach... u are correct.. If Ronnie had played on the past 2 teams at Capital who knows how could he and Capital could have been...

With regards to Otterbeins transfer Rafferty- who knows how good this guy can be.. He was a very good High School player at both St. Charles and Dublin Coffman... he hasnt played in a few years and i believe he injured his arm some time ago

HS Coach,
Regarding the Dover QB, should he have chosen MUC?  I just don't see it.  You have the kid from Laguna Beach (or wherever in Cali he is from) as well as another strong out-of-state recruit at that position.  Add those two prospects to the two signal callers you have with Salem snaps and it sounds like the Dover kid may have been well composed to make an educated (and easily justified) decision.  I really like what Capital has done and I wish well for the young man.  No need to go below the belt with the "guess he wants to lose" stuff.  Win with class.

Change of subject...

What are the OAC'ers impressions of JCU's DC departing.  Obvioulsy, as MUC has proven, DC's can be replaced, but will this hurt the 'Streaks?  My guess is that he will be missed more from a structural standpoint than an X's and O's standpoint.  What do those of you who have seen JCU's defenses think?

By the way, Doeder's a father.  Something to mull over...

Thought that was an obvious enough joke.  Especially 4u.;D

In all honesty, it's probably a good move for him if playing time is more important.  Picking between MUC and Cap would be a very tough decision when you start comparing the past history of needing to wait your turn at MUC versus the potential to start right away at a very competitive program like Capital.  Not sure what I'd pick if I was in his position.  The $64,000 question is what happens if Marty Assman is as good as we're lead to believe by the Cap coaching staff?  And if so, does Garner sit behind him for 2 years at Capital, or does he go somewhere else if playing time is the most important factor.

That's the scariest thing I've heard in years!  The end times are truely upon us.........

No knock on the Pioneers.  I hope they hold their own against the Johnnies.  As for tiers  in the Oac who knows after the last two seasons.  My guess is Gags will turn the dogs loose against another OAC team.  SJU is supposed to be really good this year.  A young team last year that almost beat WW in the playoffs.  If the Pios keep it within 10 pts, they will have a good showing.  Go Pioneers!

guess he wants to major in something besides education or sports management, maybe he finds Columbus more cosmopolitan than Alliance or just maybe he wants to do what he chooses...you guys need to get out more and see the world...
