And I've seen Columbus, a decent place, but not much of "the world."  ;)

I forgot that Mount only offered two degree programs.  I'm surprised scotty stuck up for Capital since it's not in the NCAC and they field more than 30 players, needing none to play both ways and having zero Rhodes Scholars on their starting offensive or defensive lines in the last two decades or more.

Thanks for putting together the OAC preview.  As a CCIW guy it was interesting to hear about some of the other members of the OAC besides the teams that have been competing in the playoffs the last few years.  Very interesting reading indeed!

Is anyone besides me surprised Percy Garner turned down MUC as well as larger division schools to play at CAP? Seeing as he is also an outstanding baseballer as well, I would have guessed that if he was going to play D3 sports,  perhaps Marietta might have been the frontrunner for his services. Does Marietta discourage athletes from diversifing too much? I know at D1 schools they want the athletes to usually concentrate training in one area of specialization. Hopefully D3 hasnt gotten that way yet. I saw Garner play against Massillon and was impressed with his athleticism, however he can be rattled under a big rush and make mistakes. That game proved it. When he rolls into MUC games he can expect more of the same!

Dover High QB , Percy  not going to Mt. Union as was previously reported.  Word on the street from Dover is he has committed to Capital.   I guess he wants to play asap.
Heard that Wes Miller of Aurora (QB) may  be going to either MUC OR W&J.  Aurora has a couple MUC grads Wearvey is one) on staff.

I do think JCU will be hurt with the DC leaving manily because of the timing. JCU will be going in to Spring Practice with no defined DC though Scafe has had experience in the past as a DC there will be a lose of continuity.  I have heard there former DC did a solid job game planning the opposing offense which shows considering they have had a strong defense since his arrival with inferiour athletes compared to the big dogs in the OAC.

I am surprised to hear so much talk about ETTA on this board. Not to crush your dreams they will be medicore at best similar to the last 10 years.

As "medicore" as the spelling throughout that post???   ;)

(I know it's a message board.  It takes a significant amount of errors for me to say something but that was painful to read through.)

And the NCAC has the nerve to say we're not concerned with academics in the OAC.

Medicore is that new health plan which includes an outstanding prescription drug coverage plan.  ;D

I was fortunate enough to graduate from a school in the OAC that has more to offer than education or sports management as was earlier discussed.  I think ONU was up to three full majors by the time I celebrated commencement.

You mentioned another "out of state recruit" at QB for Mount. Who might that be and where is he from? Just curious.

ONU from 99-01 for sure.

And Witt has a five game win streak against the Jackets in the 60's.

I think a third program might sneak in too in the real early years since it took BW five or six years to win it's first game in the OAC.

Chris Sidick and Justin Papania played pivotal roles on both football and baseball at Marietta in the early 2000s under Schaly. Schaly told me he's never had a problem with it, but it hasn't happened very much because there just aren't very many players good enough to do it that want to.

Papania was a Pitcher/QB and Sidick was a LF/CF//CB/WR/LB/S/KR/PR/RB.
