I saw the Dan Patrick thing as well - interesting indeed. I checked
www.clevelandbrowns.com and found no mention of Rocky anywhere. Granted they did not have a retirement section on the site.

Word on Pentello is he failed his physical because of a childhood injury to his foot. The Browns didn't want to be on the hook in case he reinjured it.

Really?  The word I heard was that the injury was a broken hip after tripping on his walker.......
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Nice.  Rocky played 8 great seasons at Capital and didn't reinjure his foot and now the Browns are worried about it?

I'm sure you only posted just to take yet another jab at Rocky's age, but yes, I'm sure reasonable people can see why the Browns' liability (a season at the minimum salary, I believe, if someone is on IR or released with a injury package) is a little larger.

But are we then also assuming that the Browns are reasonable people?  If he indeed failed a physical it's a shame.  That would have been a great thing to get to tell the grandkids about.  (No jokes about how close he is to having grandkids.)

I was watching one of the playoff videos from this year and they had some reporter doing sideline stuff during the games. They had Dan Pugh on one of them and he is still working for an investment firm in Hartville. I believe that was were he was going right after graduation. That is all they really touched on except for Nate breaking his record. There was no mention of any additional football activities during the interview.

I thought that was what Chuck Moore was doing?

From what I understand T. Arth had two offers from two AFL teams (New Jersey, and Florida).  Looking at the Argos roster it seems like he would have been better off in AFL.  Either way it is great he is still getting an opportunity.

kirasdad,

You are right, I looked at the time of my post and I was 3/4 asleep. That was Chuck Moore in the interview. As Emily Lettela might say....Nevermind.

Chuck Moore, Dan Pugh, Nate Kmic.....and the list continues.

Otterbein and Marietta will rep the OAC in the NCAA DIII baseball touney.

Capital (the #4 seed in the OAC tourney) won their first two games (against #1 Heidleberg and #2 Otterbein) to make it to the championship series, only needing to win one more game for the AQ, but lost two to the hated Otters.  Instead, they go home.  Nice season though.  They finished 20-21... sub-.500, but with a lot of close losses.  Also, I can't remember a 20 win baseball season.

It would have been a first to have the Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams all in the NCAA's in the same season.  Capital is certainly a program on the rise, in everything.  You guys know about football, but it has been a heck of a year overall for Cap.  FB- 2nd place and NCAA at-large bid, Volleyball -OAC Champs and NCAA appearance, Mens soccer- 2nd place, Womens soccer- OAC tourney champs and NCAA appearance, Mens BB- reg season co-champs, OAC tourney champs and NCAA appearance, Womens BB- 2nd place reg season and OAC touney runner up, Softball- 3rd place OAC and OAC tourney appearance, Baseball-4th place OAC and OAC tourney runner-up.

On the men's side of the house, the OAC has had two representatives in each NCAA tourney in all three of the "big" sports... Mount and Cap in Football, Cap and JCU in Basketball, and Etta and Otterbein in Baseball.  That certainly says something about the strength of our conference.

I have some more news on P Garner going to Capital.  Not so fast, Percy has been reconsidering.   I wonder if Mt. could be helping him reconsider?   No way Mt. wouldn't try and influence this gifted athlete to go to A town.    Or would .................
