yes that is a very well written article... I can tell that much time and effort was put forth in writing the article...

I was just writing my own personal opion on the OAC... I would like to write a detailed article like that, but time simply does not allow me too..

I played in the OAC from 2002 until 2005 and have a pretty good idea about what takes place..

D3 football is great and I wish it had a greater following..

Evidently there is no physical to pass to make the national team ;)

If I were an opposing defensive coach and I wanted to get into Rocky' s head my linebackers would be calling coverages with names like  Cub Cadet, Lawnboy, Toro, and Wheel Horse! ;D  Husquvarna would be my all out blitz play. :D

Just kidding.....Good luck to the Golden Buckeye.....Rocky Pentello.  Represent us well.

hscoach, very nice work!  Thanks for your insights.  Pat should be paying you because you're one of the biggest reasons some of us read this board.

Pic'ems:
He who runs the game should make the rules.  I appreciate you asking us, but it's all your work that brings us the game, so line 'em up the way you decide and we'll knock 'em down.

Perhaps a more honest way to say it is we'll try to knock 'em down--those spreads seem to knock me down.

Thanks for the heads-up!  That's a job I could really pour myself into........
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

JK

But then you would have to change your screen name to something like muccheercoach, which doesn't quite have the appeal your current handle does  ;D

Reality,

Went to a wedding for one of my Cadets in Ft. Wayne this past weekend.  On the way home stopped by to see my roomate from Cap, who married an ONU grad.  They just built a home in Ada.  You can look out their back window and see the east end zone of War Memorial.

Anyway, my point is that my trip once again confirmed for me that Ada is a dump.  How could you ever have enjoyed going to school there? ???

Number one job requirement for the MUC cheer coach:

If I were the new cheerleading coach at MUC, the first thing I would do is take the whole squad to a remote backwoods location where we could all get to know one another and bond. Just like in WE ARE THE TITANS.  It is not illegal unless you cross state lines. :o  I wonder if coaching cheerleaders involves breaking down lots of film like football? I could do that! Are  there in home recruiting visits for cheerleading? I wonder what the job pays? This position cant be too hard to fill. One of the benefits of this job is the annual trip to beautiful Va every year or so. Who wouldnt want this job?

Ada is no Bexley (and I couldn't be happier).

It's nothing to write home about but I went to ONU for ONU, not for Ada.

Reality,

I don't question your choice of schools, my friend.  In fact, if I recall the last Princeton Review rankings, ONU "graded out" as the best school in the OAC academically.

In all seriousness, I have always thought that Ada has a nice, quaint small-town downtown area.  But I never realized how dumpy some of the homes in town were until I visited the other day.  Get off on some of the side streets and there are some definite rednecks living in that town.

I did, however, notice that Ada now has a Taco Bell.  It's probably not that new, but since I haven't been to Ada in 10 years or so, it is new to me.

You are right, Ada is no Bexley, but at least Bexley is part of the Columbus metro.  Where did you guys go for "culture," Lima?

No hard feelings, just a little jab in a slow off season... ;D

No hard feelings here either.  Just having fun with it.

The Taco Bell/Pizza Hut (let's not shortchange the fine establishment across from campus) was opened during my years at ONU.  Ada lost Hardee's a couple years ago in favor of that CVS on the corner opposite the campus entrance.  I've only seen that change on my most recent visit to campus and don't like it much as it pretty much pushed the two mom and pop pharmacies out of business in the downtown area.

And for culture we went up to Findlay for some Frickin' Chicken Chunks at Fricker's.  $.25 wings every Tuesday baby!  I guess I'm not much of a culture guy so it never mattered to me.  Coneys at Skyline in Lima, a trip to the Super Walmart and/or a Kewpee burger or two was all I needed to be happy.

Condolences extended to elder, ONU fans with Friday's passing of former All-American fullback, Dean Dreher (1969-1972).  Prior to his career at ONU, he was an Ohio Class A shotput and discus champion while at Montpelier (OH) in the late 1960s along with his OH HoF, Coach and father, Cletus "Pete" Dreher.
