By the way, I like the 8-man line in the graphic that is on the front of the 2006 OAC Media Guide.

Who says it's an 8-man offensive front?  Maybe they're running a 6-2 defense and the free safety is too deep and therefore off the page.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

My bad!

I was assuming the formation to be offensive and therefore that should be "8 men on the line of scrimmage" with the ONU wide-out causing the violation.

Now defense?  It looks like you are lining up against UMHB!

kirasdad, I saw your signature page and noted that you had no MUC football championships before 1985.  I went to the OAC media guide and saw on page 5 that MUC had played football since 1914, but truly had no Championships prior to that.

That is amazing.

WE non-OAC'ers can get a good chuckle from that!   :D
RT,
To be exact, MTU has been playing football since 1893.  The first game was against Kenyon and the Lords beat MTU 18-0.  In 1894 Kenyon beat MTU again, this time it was 36-0.  Though it wasn't MTU's worst defeat that year.  Oberlin beat MTU  67-0.

There was talk of Kenyon and Oberlin having lower academic recruiting standards than Mount Union, but Mount never used that as an excuse for their big losses.   :-*

OMG, I didn't give credit where credit is due.  My source of information, the best source of information on Mount Union football, is mtunionfootball.com (thanks, Ric).

D3 Poster

Speaking of the OAC Media Guide....will the '07 version  have a brand new streak to post?

I think the Berg's run of losses from '03-'06 may have unseated Marietta who made their run '81-'84.  Was this mentioned last season?

Last year, I really thought the Student Princes would knock off Oberlin.  The Yeomen come to Tiffin this year after finishing 5-5 last year.  The record includes playing Witt & Allegheny for the first time since 1998.

Interesting match-up for Hallet's opener!

Interesting for sure.  I'll be rooting for Student Princes to beat the Yeomen as payback for that 1894 beating the Yeomen gave the Raiders!  ::)

I can remember a time Mount would  have been excited to have the Massillon QB as a football player

Huth looking to air it out in finale

instead of a baseball recruit

Re: 2006 OAC Media Guide

Why's it gotta be ONU committing the penalty at wideout?  It should be BW's fault since they don't pass much in the first place.  Who'd expect them to know where to line up?

And the scariest part of the '06 media guide is that, with only ten members of the OAC, we let the NCAA call the plays in that eleventh slot.  There has to be a more fitting decision-maker out there.   ;)
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

Jordan followed another dream and became one of the best small high school girl's basketball players last year. Anyway, the high school football is a whole lot bigger and harder to grip than that junior ball in youth football. That being said, she still had more poise and presence in the pocket than any young QB I've seen, ie she was a natural. PS Our girl FG Kicker retired as well. :P

Okay, I watched the video.  I guess you could say, whatever works for ya, but not my ideal situation - coaches fighting players.  :-\

Now on a completely different note (D3 football history), is this an amazing rivalry or what?

Bobby Huth going to MUC? I am surprised. He has the competitive spirit but lacks the height of the typical MUC QB. Is he exclusive in his plans for baseball or will he try football too? The kid is a pretty good passer, but hesitant to run with it. The newspaper is full of reports of athletes selecting colleges lately, but I havent seen any Perci Garner news yet. In head to head competition Huth was the victorious QB over Garner. MUC also got a kid fron Jackson High with a great name for a footballer. Lambert Bryzinski. Spelling may be incorrect, if so, all apologies. If Garner and Huth end up playing together someday I would have Huth under center and Garner catching passes. Does anybody know about other incomming players?

Ric is correct, Garner decided on Ball State.  Oh well no ring for Percy.
