Mr. Ypsi

Geez, from the earlier discussions, I thought Rocky was the oldest continuous member. ;D

Glad to see that Mount fans are leading in the number who purchased Pat's Kickoff Preview for 2007. With my knees, it's the only game I can win. Let's not let St Johns sneak up and tie us or we'll have to get Rodney Chenos to buy three as time expires. :D :D :D

Anyone planning to see any inter-squad scrimmages?  I enjoy seeing the freshmen for the first time.

Muskie1

I wanted to attend Muskingums scrimmage on Suday, but will not be able now, because of a previous engagement.
From what I've heard, about the Muskies Practices, it seems the Defense is ahead of the Offense. This is not surprising, because of the New Coach and new Offense they will be running this year. It will take a little time, for the O, to get caught up with the D. I have not seen many practices, so I can't give first hand information, but this is what I've been told. Expectations are high on Campus and the Muskie Offense whould be more exciting this year to watch.

For the Mount Union fans,

What is the average temp and humidity in Alliance around the 1st of Sept. This 99 degree stuff here in Virginia with 100% Humidity is worst than Phoenix ever dared to be. I would love to see snow right now.

Here you go.........http://www.erh.noaa.gov/cle/climate/cak/normals/caknrtsep.html

Thanks Everyone for the information......one more question then I'll let you get back to your conference chats........I have been to a couple of schools on Averetts schedule that really didn't have the facilities for tailgating. Does Mount Union have an area I can tailgate without interrupting the home team crowd.

I wouldn't expect the offense to have much of a learning curve from '06 to '07 since the head coach was offensive coordinator last year....

So that means they're going to mix in the forward pass a little this year???

You're talking about one of the friendliest tailgating crowds around IMO.  I'm sure they'll let you tailgate in peace if you want it but MUC fans are professional tailgaters because they get to practice it almost yearly down in Salem.

Yet we're rookies compared to Bridgewater and Stone Station ;)

Tailgating takes place in the parking lot just west of the stadium. It's a fun bunch, although we should warn you well in advance that many of our fans that we are less than proud of chose to sit in the section next to the visitor seats. Ignore them, they are often just dumb.

Thanks, I promise not to start any trouble and to only ring the cowbell if you guys allow Averett to put any points on the board. It would be nice if we could keep it a little more respectable this year. From what I am reading, Mount Union is going to be as strong or stronger this year than last. Amazing, and with 200 plus guys in camp, you prettty much are guaranteed having top choice to replace the ones you lost to graduation.

kickerdad,

In case you're wondering....the picture below shows the East Stands at Mount Union Stadium.  Your seats are where all those folks in orange are seated.  If you look real close you may be able to see reality check in that crowd.  ;D

And if you look really, really close at the top window in the left corner of the pressbox, you might be able see The Ric standing on chair so he can see over the window sill.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Even though the Head Coach was the O-Cooridinator, doesn't mean the Offensive plan will be the same. This year, with Coach Logan in charge, he is implementing a Spread oriented Offense, so yes, there will be a learning curve for the players, learning a new system.

Looks like a very nice facility.......I am assuming everyone gets to sit on the same side of the field? The field looks great.....is that real grass of the fake.

Pat Coleman

It's fake grass, and no, there's a grandstand on the other side as well.

An example, sort of:
