Raiderguy the full roster is released the week leading up to the opener.

Mr. Ypsi

Among the many drawbacks of rooting for the Detroit Pussycats is the near-total lack of 'trash-talk' opportunities.  Mr. Ypsi is reduced to the pathetic level of gloating over pre-season results:

If all other NFL teams were re-located to OHIO, the Liedowns would win the Super Bowl! :o ::) :P

I was glad to find this message board to talk OAC football.  I am excited to see what will happen with Coach Al Logan at the helm of the Fighting Muskies.

Welcome aboard. Don't let the overwhelming horde of Mount Union fans get to you. :)

How true. I know I felt the wrath of the Raider fans on my very first post.
All kidding aside, welcome aboard Big Muskie. Its good to see more Muskie fans climbing onboard.
As stated earlier by somebody, I think Coach Logan will do a good job. I think he will need a few years, to see the results, but once he gets his Recruits onboard and on track, they'll do fine.

Welcome aboard.

Since we have some newbies here, let me remind everyone the 2007 OAC Pick-Em contest will be up and running very soon.  As always, it's open to anyone who wants to participate.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

And he means anyone - even a CCIW fan from that state up north! :o ;D

Welcome aboard Musky fans.  If the 2 of you stick around, that would mean you have better representation on this board than everyone but CAP, ONU and MUC. I think Wabash is better represented on this page than most of the OAC teams lol.

Of course, you could put all of us together and we wouldn't have the same number of posters as Mount has but we all get along pretty well.  Get in on the OAC Pick 'Ems too.  It's a lot of fun and doesn't take much time (for everyone except hscoach who runs it).  Good luck to Muskies.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

I love DIII football and everyone knows the OAC has the best football in the country.  I love to explore different college campuses and stadiums. Which OAC school, do you all think, has the best stadium from a fan's point of view?  Mount is electric, obviously.   I love to sit on the hill under those huge oak trees opposite the bleachers at Muskingum.  I am eagerly awaiting John Carroll game so I can check out their new field.  Have not been to Wilmington yet.  Any thoughts?

I have been to every stadium in the OAC except Otterbein's new one, so I'll give my thoughts on each.

BW:  Not a bad stadium, but not great either.  It was probably very nice when it was first built.  Good views all around, but the turf they have looks like the unnatural Astroturf of the 1980s.  Also, they charge for parking...not a lot, but come on!

Capital:  A small but very nice facility.  Again, it's tough to find a bad seat, and the Capital Center is very cool to walk around and look through.  I have never been there when it was packed, but I'd imagine that for a very big game, seating might be an issue.

Heidelberg:  Typical community field.  It offers very little in the way of aesthetics.  Bland.

JCU:  I'm partial to it since it is my alma mater.  The new bleachers are spacious, if a little far from the field.  A great stadium.  Parking, however, can be a pain.

Marietta:  My second favorite stadium, only because it has so much character.  It's old, but I had a great time there...and they have the best press box pizza in the conference.

Mount:  Very nice.  A little cramped on the visitor's side with everyone trying to jam in, but a good stadium nonetheless.  Gotta love seeing the line of purple (or black) players coming through the tunnel when they dress everybody.  Maybe one day they'll even build a visitor's locker room!  :P

Muskingum:  My favorite OAC stadium because of the view.  The lake, the hills, it's fantastic.

ONU:  Awesome stadium.  I love how close the stands are to the field.  Players and coaches have remarked that this can be one of the loudest stadiums in the conference because the fans are right on top of the field.

Wilmington:  The soccer stadium has lights, when I was last there, the football stadium still didn't.  Enough said.

Is there much Tailgating going on, at DIII Football games? I'm sure there is at MUC, but what about the other OAC schools? Muskingum?

I attended a few games at Geneva last year, and didn't see much tailgating. I'm looking forward to some of the Muskie games this year, but not sure what to expect.

Big Muskie

Saturdays in New Concord...nothing better.   Maybe if we get some W's!
There is a some tailgating at Muskingum.  I plan to be there every game this year, so look for the big red tent and the Muskie flag.   Mount fans always bring a crew to tailgate though.  Of course!  They are always very classy though.

You're talking about one of the friendliest tailgating crowds around IMO.  I'm sure they'll let you tailgate in peace if you want it but MUC fans are professional tailgaters because they get to practice it almost yearly down in Salem.

Yet we're rookies compared to Bridgewater and Stone Station ;)

Tailgating takes place in the parking lot just west of the stadium. It's a fun bunch, although we should warn you well in advance that many of our fans that we are less than proud of chose to sit in the section next to the visitor seats. Ignore them, they are often just dumb.

Raider Fans,

Is this parking lot numbered or have any identification on it. Or will there be security there that can help locate?
