You're talking about one of the friendliest tailgating crowds around IMO.  I'm sure they'll let you tailgate in peace if you want it but MUC fans are professional tailgaters because they get to practice it almost yearly down in Salem.

Yet we're rookies compared to Bridgewater and Stone Station ;)

Tailgating takes place in the parking lot just west of the stadium. It's a fun bunch, although we should warn you well in advance that many of our fans that we are less than proud of chose to sit in the section next to the visitor seats. Ignore them, they are often just dumb.

Raider Fans,

Is this parking lot numbered or have any identification on it. Or will there be security there that can help locate?

http://www.muc.edu/your_site/visitors/about_mount/interactive_campus_map/west

Follow the link to the map.  It's the parking lot next to the stadium, right under the number 5.  Yes there will be security to give you directions.

You're the only one from Averett asking.  Is anyone else coming? ;)

Glad to see that Mount fans are leading in the number who purchased Pat's Kickoff Preview for 2007. With my knees, it's the only game I can win. Let's not let St Johns sneak up and tie us or we'll have to get Rodney Chenos to buy three as time expires. :D :D :D

Pat et all,

Great job on Kickoff!  Thanks for all your hard work, and all you do for D3.

raiderguy: I thought I would respond to your gracious offer on this board in hopes that you would read it sooner and to let others know just how nice a guy you are. Now if your intention was to get me lost, make me pay for everything, or just be rude then ignore the last statement.  ;D Seriously, I am going to decline your offer because I do not want to inconvience you in any way. With flights being delayed and airport issues, I don't want you waiting on me. However, I do expect to meet up with you at the tailgate. Who are you rooting for?

Wilmington:  The soccer stadium has lights, when I was last there, the football stadium still didn't.  Enough said.

The soccer team is actually good.  Enough said.   ;D

It's funny I can't comment on a couple stadiums because I haven't seen the new ones.  I finally got to ONU last summer to see and tour Dial-Roberson.  Mount's stadium I've always liked.  Sitting on the visitor sidelines I always felt like I was looking at one of those horsetrack grandstands I grew up seeing when I went to various county fairs with the family.  Last time I was at CAP, the new field was still being constructed but I think it's a great, compact athletics facility on campus.  I'd echo the same comments regarding BW.  Didn't like the fact that football players in uniform and pads had to cross a busy street to get there from the athletic center/locker rooms.  I think ONU has a great stadium.  I know it took forever to get it funded and built (I was promised to be in a new stadium by end of freshman year as a high school recruit) but the end result is amazing.  The stands are truly on top of the home sidelines and the hill can be a great place for students to watch the game on couches, blankets or whatever they drag to the field.  If they put in the video scoreboard and increase the size of the visitor stands as I am told is in the works, they take the cake for me.  Not that I'm biased or anything.

I love DIII football and everyone knows the OAC has the best football in the country.  I love to explore different college campuses and stadiums. Which OAC school, do you all think, has the best stadium from a fan's point of view?  Mount is electric, obviously.   I love to sit on the hill under those huge oak trees opposite the bleachers at Muskingum.  I am eagerly awaiting John Carroll game so I can check out their new field.  Have not been to Wilmington yet.  Any thoughts?

JCU and ONU both have truly amazing facilities, however I wish ONU would have put the artificial turf in.

Otterbein's new stadium renovation is nice and having it right on campus (basically near the middle) is nice as well.  However, they just need to get more support and attendance at home games.  When our daughter was checking out schools and visited there with my wife (actually this was with the "old" stadium in place and right before the reonovations), they liked the campus but were disappointed in the game attendance.  However, at least they have a marching band which is a plus.

I'm looking forward to visiting the OAC sites and yes the site of the Johnnies. For now I will comment on the stadiums I've been to in DIII. Coming from the NCAC without seeing the majority of the stadiums in the conference IMHO Wooster was one of my favorites. It was a little run down but the setting was nice. Most notably Wooster's band. When they came over the hill playing the bagpipes, it gave me chills. I would like to go back someday to just see them again. I also enjoyed OWU beating them there. Wittenberg had a good atmosphere and a nice stadium. OWU and Marietta have the old stadiums with lots of history. Those are the ones I like the best. If they could only talk, the stories they could tell of the games of the past. Its neat to think about those teams preparing to play OSU, Michigan, and OU. How Etta endured a long losing streak but bounced back to be competitive and how OWU still runs the wing-t. Thinking about the past makes me think about the future. Will we someday in the near future be amazed at how Etta pulled out a conference championship? No Im not talking baseball. I dream it and I hope every Pioneer does too. Go Pioneers!

Some random DYK's (Did You Know's) inspired by reading the 2007 ONU football media guide which is now available at onusports.com.

Mount Union and ONU are the only two OAC teams yet to have lost to the Wilmington Quakers since they came back to the OAC in 1999.

Under Dean Paul's watch, the team GPA at ONU has improved from 2.59 to 2.80, beating the national average for 4-year institutions (2.70).  23 players have a 3.5 GPA or better.

Capital's Bernlohr Stadium is the smallest capacity stadium in the OAC (3000).

ONU's worst beating ever (87-0) took place at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 1913.

Their largest margin of victory (151) was over the College of Physicians and Surgeons (proving that pharmacists are better football players).  The 1904 season featured a medical theme as ONU played against CPS, the Ft. Wayne Medics twice and the Columbus Medics.

ONU was beaten by "The Deaf Mutes" 6-0 in 1903.  There were no audibles in that game.

2006 was the first season in which no ONU player had at least 1000 yards rushing, passing or receiving since 1985.

Although three schools in the OAC have red as a component in their school's colors.  None of those schools recognize red as an official color.  Muskingum prefers "magenta", Heidelberg doesn't recognize any red officially, choosing only to denote orange and black, and Otterbein prefers "cardinal".

Who are the only two teams to defeat the Polar Bears at Dial-Roberson stadium?

Genius Gone Bad

Last seasons 2 home losses came to Etta, and CAP, but the Bears have lost more then just to 2 teams at the Dial.

GGB is correct.

ONU media guide has conflicting info....maybe a Polar Bear can explain the discrepancy.

pg 2 claims an 8-2 record at DR
pg 13 claims an 11-4 record at DR

Not sure who many of you have read the D3 Preview, but there is a statement from Kehres that made me happy.  Very happy.
