Well guys, I had been keeping it quiet but I'm so pumped about this that I thought I should share.  I started last week as on offensive and defensive line coach for one of the high schools out here.  Just got back from a scouting assignment tonight and we have our first game next week.  I've been wanting to coach since I was done with football and it's finally happening for me.  I'm thrilled for this opportunity.

I hope to still be here as much as ever but I know this is gonna be a big time commitment.

RC  My sincere congratulations. Any coaching assignment done right is a big commitment but it's also a really great reward. I know how excited and proud you are.   The nicest thing anybody can ever do is call you, "Coach".

RC - Good for you!  You're gonna love it!  Take hscoach's advice on the parents.  You need a thick skin when dealing with some of those folks, but that's just a few of them.

Thanks guys.  GGB, got your email and thank you.  I've already seen the effects of mom and dad.  It's definitely different attitude-wise out here than what we're used to in Ohio.  Most of these kids have never put on pads prior to freshman year.  I will admit though I was a little nervous when the coach introduced me to the starting center and said, "Coach is gonna straighten out that shotgun snap of yours.  He played center in high school and long-snapped in college."  While everything he said is true, I never shotgun snapped a ball to the QB in my life.  We ran a veer in high school and I wasn't on the offensive line at ONU.  The adventure begins...

Ah, OAC football's restarting, so I guess I make my return to talking about it. 4 OAC people in the top 26 isn't surprising, I think Ohio Northern might be a bit high though. Well see though, I guess.

Nope. I'm some guy who posted a bit here last year, is all. Someone h's ookign forward to this season, looks to be pretty heated own the stretch.

This site picked them to win the MIAA, the coaches poll put them in second.  That should be a good scrimmage for both teams.

RC, I noticed you picked all OAC'ers but Capital in your pickems. Any reason for that? Do you really think Marietta can cover or are you picking with your heart? By the way, nice scroll.

The Pios scrimmage St. Vincent today at 4pm. I hope they all stay healthy, its gonna be over a 100 degrees on that field. I want the players to be able to perform at their best and in this heat it may be difficult. I feel like John Madden by pointing out  the obvious. Goooooo Pios!
