Hello All You OAC Fans! 

I will not be in attendance today at Mount due to opening day in PeeWee football.  I have a bunch of 6th and 7th graders that are all fired up.  Hopefully, we can start the season off with a win. 

I will expect a fun-filled, highlight oriented game for Mount today, and it should be over by half-time.  I will be listening on the headset before our game starts.

I have been listening and Mount is scary. 1st play from scrimmage Kmic takes it 65 yds for a score. I feel pretty good about the season. Kmic 97yds rushing on 6 carries and 3 TDs in one quarter.

3 questions: What game does Kmic break Pugh's record?
What game does Garcon break Marino's record?
Can/will Mount break 700 points for a season?

I get back from my daughter's game (cheerleading) and Mount is up 45-0 in the First Quarter?!?!?!?!?!

I apologize Ric for the duh comment. You are the one who warned me not to let my feelings get hurt.

I stated that stats ARE a good indicator of who is suppose to win. I also stated that the team that suppose to win on paper doesn't some times. Yes it is a hope I hold onto because I am not an MU fan and I know my team will not be favored against stiff competition like the Johnnies. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you but a team in all sports have won championships with lousy stats. I consider Marietta a good football team based on wins and who they beat. I agree their stats were sad but hey they beat ONU and BW last year, givem some lovin. I guess it comes down to definition of what people consider a good team. I believe, no matter their stats, if they are competitive they are good. If your opinion is only the teams that can compete with MU or have good stats no matter their record are good, then I can understand that. I don't believe the person who stated that Marietta would be the best team STJ will play was being serious. Someone needs a nice Crown and Coke and just relax. I agree to just disagree on the stats thing, okay? I'm also okay with you critiquing my posts. What is great about this site is that everyone does not think the same and that is okay with me. Let me reiterate, the duh comment was disrespectful and I again apologize.

Stick to your guns. Yes Mount ripped up the Marietta defense, but who didn't they.

You wanna know one game that was DEFINITELY misleading statistically? Capital.

That game was 24-10 going to the fourth quarter. Cap had only three more first downs in the game than Marietta. It got out of hand early in the 4th quarter when Cap scored three times in 4 minutes off Pioneer turnovers.

But the person who said that Marietta has not proven competitiveness with Capital is dead wrong. But those are the type of games Marietta needs to keep it together and find a way to win if they are to have an 8-2 type season. Marietta's problem last year was that they couldn't run, and that needs to change.

For what it's worth, when Rockford scored a Division III record 105 in 2003, they only had 28 in the first quarter. But they then had 98 with six minutes to go in the third quarter before letting up.

LK pulls the plug at 99 and puts in the faculty after the cheerleaders score 28 in the 3rd. Dr. Cunion (political science) finishes with 100 yards on 15 carries. Sorry - no offense meant to Averett. I was on the losing end of a 73-0 game in HS and it really sucks. I feel for Averett - but I feel very good about the season.
