I do not envy your decision, JK, however having a son your age, and he being my only son I would hope he would stay home.  I feel I can offer this as I am a Viet era veteran, went to college  and bought first home on GI bill...
But as I said, this is parental selfishness...good luck...

Is there a list anywhere of all the D-III games being carried on STO this season? I can add it to my DirecTV lineup but am pondering whether it's worth $12 a month for the sports pack.
If you go to the sportstime Ohio webpage they give you a day by day schedule.  It olooks like all the BW games will be shown on tape delay at 10:30 PM on saturdays.  They have Augie this week, an off week, Wilmington (I think the schedule say burlington or something like that at STO) and the last week of Sept. they have Joh Carrol.  So with that trend I would say this is a BW thing.  SO at least once I will be able to watch MUC on it.

This weeks game of BW vs. Augie should be a good one.

JK,

If you choose to go to Iraq our prayers and best wishes will be with you.

But, you have already served your country well.  There is no shame in putting your family first.

JK - Both of your parents put in a lot of dedicated years of service to Alliance area schools. I started  at Mount with your Mom and graduated with Chuck Moore. I still love working with young people whether it's youth football, cross country, track or in the classroom. It's how I serve my country.

That being said, I doubt anyone whould blame you if you walk away. You've done your time, in an era where most don't have to serve. And knowing how irreplaceable those toddler years are, I think most parents would understand. Follow your heart and tell your head to shut the f*** up.  We're still a proud of you and what ever decision you make won't change that.

It will be interesting to see how Auggie adapts to BW's cement field.Auggie tests your manhood. They line up and run the ball right at you.I'll never forget the 1999 game at MUC where they held the ball something like 46 minutes of the game. Fortunately,MUC had a great offensive team  and was able to advance.A lot of Raider fans sat through that game with lumps in their throats, wondering if we were ever going to stop them.It was like watching Oklahoma in the 70's.They may be back.

JK:  Good luck with your decision and God bless all of those willing to put their lives on the line for America.

I have a young engineer working for me that's done 1 tour oversees as part of the National Guard and he's about quit working with us to spend a year trying out with the Special Ops folks.  Says he's doing it because he has "unfinished business" from before.  He's wrestled with this decision for some time but he's finally pulled the trigger on trying to make it.  I'm truly amazed and thankful that there's enough guys willing to wear uniform and everything that comes with it to keep the rest of us lazy schmucks safe adn free!

hscoach: What is up with you? Did I offend you somehow or do you just have a chip on your shoulder? I have nothing against MU, except I hope Marietta can beat them one day. If MU kills Etta again this year and they do it with class, I could care less if they score over 100. Give me a break! ::)

No offense and no chip.  I appreciate your energy, but a little dose of logical thought might be worthwhile in your positions.

Let me get this straight, I offended someone because I have faith in and support my son and his team, okay. ::)

No.  Its offending people like Ric, as you did last week.  Ric is Hscoach's stepchild.  You caused a big stir around here last week with your argument about Marietta.   I'm not even going to rehash it.  You were defending last year's team based upon the stats you read and NOT by seeing the teams like some of the fellas did on this thread.

That's too funny.  Ric is going to be so happy to hear that.......

Their site only posts schedule 4-6 wks ahead.  I see BW-Wilmington (I finally figured out what "Bloomington" meant).  I have heard BW-JCU and JCU-Mount.  Looks to all be OAC.  Last year they had Cap at ONU and BW and Otterbein.  There is also supposed to be a JCU soccer DH (M/W).

JK I ran into you Dad a couple weeks back.  We hadn't seen each other in a couple years since I no longer do HS games.  We talked for a minute.  He's a really good guy.  Best wishes to you on whatever you decide.

JK: Best of luck to you and your family in the route you choose to take...we all know you will make the right decision on whichever path you decide to travel!!  After all, you are a CAP grad!!

I have been following Cap fball since 1996, and began posting since 2001.  To-date, I have not missed a game (home or away) since 2001.  This doesnt make me an expert, and I do not claim to be, but it does make me a fan.  I want to add a comment about how one can confirm whose team will miss who more (i.e., Pentello vs Vrable)??  If Cap has a bigger differential in wins compared to last year then Etta...who wins??

kcreds

hscoach: I guess I must be really missing your point, please enlighten me. What do you mean by thinking logically? I am a retired police detective and I always believed I thought logically, obviously not. I'm not over confident, obnoxious, or most of the time, vindictive. I think positive about my team and back them when people post that they are horrible by using words or stats. Is that wrong? If you were a Pioneer backer, would you get on here and continue to comment about how bad your team is? Stats and history are against your team, do you not think about the intangibles, like heart, emotion, desire, and positive thinking? As a coach was all of your pregame comments based solely on logic? I've coached for 29 years and I tried to convince my team that they could win every game they played, did you? I truly am serious, I'm obviously missing your point. I admit I must be really slow and I'm not trying to be funny. I, along with everyone else, don't want a drawn out debate everytime I give Marietta a chance in every game they play this year. I will also give an honest critique of Etta after every game, which I did after the STJ game. Is this going to be ongoing because I don't know if I have that much energy. I know most people hopes I don't.

Logical thought!  When did that happen on this board.   Something big happens and I missed it.  Logical thought, the OAC won't be the same.

JK--my thoughts are with you as well.  It's a tough decision--I'm sure you won't make it lightly.

I had a student here a few years ago that had to spend three years as a junior because he got called up twice (he was in the reserves and only had to go as an MP).  I know it was very tough when he got called up the second time.

I can't imagine what you and your family are going through.  Good luck and know that, as others have said, you have served well already and will be supported no matter what your decision is.
