Garcon scored 3 tds tonight.  He then gave the ball to the ref and with head down exited the end zone,  Nothing else occured.  This should please those critical of his prior antics.  Mt. has yet to be tested.

Marietta is terrible, enough said. Only positive, they didn't quit.

RC:  Your absolutely right, I am a homer as you put it, and the ONU game was a big win for Etta fans, no matter what variables played into it. I realize not on the same level as MU getting beat but be flattered not offended. I guess how I stated it could have been misleading.

Ric

kreds I think you're now seeing what we, that saw Marietta play last year, suspected heading into this season.  They were a one man show last year with a very, very bad defense and absolutely no running game other than Vrable scrambling.  I just don't understand why the coach would not prepare better for this year by playing other guys when the game outcome was determined.  I questioned it when he did it last year and I think I was right in doing that.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Results for Week 4 are posted.  Games for Week 5 will be up tomorrow.

Nice work on the MUC spread. 61.5? do you have a supercomputer?

Mr. Ypsi

usee,

Even better - he's got LK on his payroll!  He checks the spread as a target, then checks hscoach's pick - if for MUC, he goes .5 over; if against, he stops .5 short! ;D

hscoach and Ric: I want to believe in them and each season brings a fresh look to a team. If you can remember back that far, MU turned their program around and look at it now. I thought Etta was headed in the right direction but they took a U-turn and are headed into the headlights of that Capital Mack truck next week. I don't know why he didn't sub more last year either. I still say, however, Go Pios!

Up 56-0 starting the 3rd Q, Mount ran the ball out-of-bounds at the 2 yard line when the runner could have easily scored a touchdown.  The runner had never scored a career touchdown, but ran out of bounds anyway.  I gotta believe it was ordered from the bench.  Otherwise, you'd have to think the kid was giving up his 1st college touchdown opportunity just to help the Muskies save face.  Generous player or instructions from the bench?  You make the call.

I just remembered, didn't someone say they wouldn't say I told you so?  ;D

Ric

I guess we're right back to where we were.

Congrats to Stelzer on his Mount-like performance.  The Marietta secondary did look terrible, bad, lost, burned, pitiful, but give Stelzer some credit as he was sharp.

Proof of my homer badge....

would you believe the Pios threw three picks at the goal line....in the fourth quarter?  Hmm, three more scores would have made this 41-23 nightmare loss much more enjoyable.  Do need to stop this 3 ints per game thing.

How about our first defensive turnover?!  Yahoo.  Our first field goal!  Except for the first punt, I thought our punter was exceptional.  Two kick-offs to the end zone...hard to believe kickers used to start at the 40 yard line.  There were some nice throws, catches and runs...and the homer badge is put away for the night.

Yikes, Capital is coming to town....and don't look behind them as here comes JCU, ONU and the Mother of all Mack trucks...MUC.  Kcreds, are you longing for the NCAC?

OWU lost their first four in 2004 and still played for the conference title their last game. No matter how much a homer I am, I can't believe it could happen this year for the Pios or if it is even possible in the OAC.

Ric, I am curious and don't be offended as you easily are, did you ever play football?

I don't appreciate your line of remarks. You didn't like my opinion a few weeks ago that I didn't think Marietta would be able to play with St. John's and instead of two adults talking football you had to blow things way out of proportion. To the point that I received three personal IM's and an email about how you posted on another board last year.

So I decided I just wouldn't talk with you anymore.  Then you ask me more than one time to respond to a post by you about a game of which I have no interest, but rather than ignore you I try to be nice and talk with you.  So what do I get? Another childish dig which really isn't true in the first place.  I made the mistake of thinking you wanted to talk football.  I won't make it again.

kcreds: look at the difference between the two conferences. How many conference games do NCAC teams play compared to OAC teams? Think a little harder.
