Ric: You didn't answer my question which probably answered it for me. There is nothing wrong with never playing the game but it helps me understand your viewpoints better. The problem lies with trying to understand where the other one is coming from. I'm trying, your not. As far as being childish, I was once but I apologized for that. As far as posts on the NCAC board, post them, I don't care. I have nothing to hide. I know you may find this hard to believe but I disagreed with some posters on the NCAC board. Is that not allowed?

Pat: There is a very remote chance but never say never. There may be one day more parity in the OAC, maybe not my lifetime. I was always taught, anything is possible, it takes believers. So my question to you Pat, is it possible?

Pat Coleman

kcreds: Have you ever been a journalist? Probably not. That helps me understand your viewpoints better.

One of the non-football players might be able to tell you the last time someone with three conference losses -- which is what you'd have in the OAC if you start 0-4 -- won the OAC.

According to the 2007 OAC Media Guide, that answer would be NEVER
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Journalists, okay it all makes sense to me now. I have stated before that I am a little slow. Don't get me wrong and start slamming me, I appreciate journalists. They sometimes have a different mindset then athletes, at least with this one anyway.

runyr, thanks and I DO agree.

If only football players can be football fans, the stands would be pretty empty on Saturday.

What is your problem Pat? Don't put words in my mouth. I haven't one time commented about my team being a great team but I just give them a chance in any game. I get bombarded because I even gave my team a chance. I admit their mistakes and this past game I was honest about how they looked. I get bombarded. Ric states in a past post that Marietta is bad and I won't say I told you so later. What happens is he does and yes you guessed it, I get bombarded. I don't wear rose colored glasses but I support and believe in my team.  I will continue to do that. I have over and over stated I appreciate what Pat does for this site and hscoach's dedication to the pickems. What do I get, Pat puts words in my mouth stating something along the lines that I don't appreciate anyone if they weren't an athlete, completely false.

To those of you that have befriended me, emailed me, and the ones I was lucky to meet in person, I say a HUGE THANK YOU. I know some of you are not athletes and that is perfectly fine with me. I love your enthusiasm for the game and your teams. I also know I wouldn't have met you if it wasn't for this site. I loved playing the game, coaching it, and enjoying watching my son participate. The experience was heightened by this site. God Bless all of you! I will continue to read your posts but I don't know if I'll ever post again. Pat, Ric, hscoach, and RC, you win.

Impressed with ONU's win.  Expected it too be much closer.  Was this a case of turnovers or is ONU that much better than JCU?

I see Alexander returned for Capital yesterday.  I was hoping he would not return until October...after the Marietta game.

Muskies get what 40 or 50 yards of offense against MUC?  Can anyone say  superior athletes and depth?  Maybe we should start praying for a new MUC president that wants to de-emphasize football....nothing else is working.

B Dub was a little sluggish, but got er done...wow, is Wilma young.

Ringer's going to finish with a great college career and will fly under the radar because he does so much work up and down the field but gets the "Tiki" treatment and doesn't get enough touches in the red zone.

I think ONU is pretty darn tough this season.  JCU is a good team too but ONU's plays much better team defense these days than they did during even the playoff years in my opinion.  I love ONU's balance so far on O.  They've got just as many first downs passing as rushing and the total offense is within 60 yards of being even through the air and on the ground.  JCU is no slouch though.  They did a decent job of slowing down the Polar Bear offense for much of the game.

And I'd piggyback on the CAP thoughts with the fact that Assman is impressive.  He's got big shoes to fill and I would have to say three games into the 2007 season, you couldn't ask for much more if you're a Crusader fan.

Through three games, only two OAC teams have thrown zero interceptions.  Any honest guesses???

No I didn't. Why do you have to act like a damn jerk?

Firstly, I never came on here talking to you. People, plural, people, were giving their opinion about the Marietta, St. John's game and I gave mine. You didn't like it. And what I said, that Marietta's defense was "horrible" last year, was accurate. I saw them play, did you?  You didn't like my opinion and you made your attacks personal.

And to be accurate, what I said was, "You can be assured if the final is 42-0 you won't hear one word from me," referring to the St. John's game. And you didn't.

Now, four weeks later, we start talking football again because you kept asking me to respond to your post. And then, after seeing Marietta play three times, you come on here and basically say the same thing about this year's team I did about last year's, that they're "terrible."

So I respond by trying to explain to you that what you are now seeing is why I thought they wouldn't be that good this year.  I thought I was talking with you not at you.  But again you have to take it personal. Well what I said yesterday had absolutely nothing to do with our disagreements before week one. So to quote you, don't put words in my mouth.

Just about every time you post something against me on this board you have to add a childish dig.  And now you're so misunderstood you want to walk off pouting.

Well frankly, I don't need to talk with someone that thinks he knows more about a team that he has NEVER seen than I do, a person that has seen Marietta play every year since the 1980's and knows their program as well as an outsider can.

It's too bad you can't just talk football. Sorry but I will not miss you posting one bit. Good luck the rest of the way.

Ric

I just got back from the Indians game and watched them clinch the division title with my boys.  I was really in a good mood and then had to come on here and read the crap posted about me.  I tried to make my boys understand what they were seeing and that I was 30 before I saw the Tribe make postseason play.  Jacobs Field was electric today and it's all good.

On another note, I will miss my first Mount Union OAC contest next week for the first time since before they won their first national title.  But I can be excused I have a very good reason to be away.  I told LK I would not be there next week and he seemed OK with it.  Since I was there when ONU knocked off the Raiders, and when B-W did the trick in '94, I guess he thinks me not being there will have absolutely no bearing on the game.  :-\

RC any chance you'll be in Ada in two weeks?

dale

I have to believe this team has the potential to be the best Mount team yet.  I know the opponents have not been much yet this year, but the speed and power of this team is amazing.  Micheli is big time.  They score so fast Kmic isn't even getting carries.  While that has to be frustrating, it will keep him fresh.  Garcon - enough said.  The kicking game is strong, returns with Wray are always a threat to score, and the defense is just plain awesome.  I love the attacking aggressive style of this D.  Bring it, bring it again, then bring it some more.

Anxious to see them play better competition, but I don't think anybody will even get close to this team.  The biggest challenge Mount has is keeping their emotions and excitement up and playing to their own potential.

What a joy to watch this team play.

Unfortunately, no.  Coaching is ruling my life and there's no way I can even think of getting back to Ohio until our season ends here.  I'm not complaining.  I love every second of this experience and hope that being a new daddy next year doesn't impact my chance to coach.  I knew committing to coaching high school football would be huge but I didn't realize it would impact me so much as a football fan.  Between the time change and our Saturday film scouting/review, I've not caught any live Polar Bear action this season.  I just hope I get home next Satruday afternoon in time to listen to a little of the ONU/OTT night game.
