Genius Gone Bad

2minute0

You can watch a team on film and tell if they are physical or not.  The question of weather you played or not is just dumb.  Everyone is entitled to a opinion rather they played are not.  As a former player I can tell you some f the teams that looked like they were world beaters against others were soft against us.  Just the way it is.

How about Mount vs ONU:

This game is gonna be a big one to say the least.  I expect to see a lot of running from both teams.  ONU needs to prove at least to me if someone shuts down Meadows they can throw the ball to win.  Mount well the need to prove they aren't just a fluke for the  last 20 or so years (just kiddin).  Mount looks down right scary, but so did the team that lost to ONU.  The bears need to defend the home turf.  It's gonna be a crazy weekend in Ada to say the least

RC:
wish you could make it man.

What the thought on the other big games around the OAC?

Is Capital in trouble this weekend with ONU on the horizon?

FWIW (since I chimed in chastising the misleading comparisons) I don't disagree that the top of the OAC is paramount, either.  As to whether the gap between the top of the OAC and WIAC is narrowing or not, I'll defer to those who have followed the scene longer than I.

But, hscoach, you made a point of claiming the gap may be getting wider, using as evidence that WW had been undefeated in the WIAC two straight years.  May it please the court: MUC has been undefeated in the OAC 11 of the last 12 years! :o  Your fact was indeed a fact, but, in context, it may not help your argument!

No, it doesn't please the court!

You're correct in MUC being undefeated 11 of 12, but the most recent trend is more competitive in the OAC than the distant past.  The WIAC used to beat the crap out of one another and produce a champ that was often 9-1 or 8-2. But the most recent trend is 10-0 Whitewater.  So the court still stands by the contention that the gap is widening.

This makes no sense!  Because UWW played in the Stagg the last two years proves that the top of the WIAC is getting better, doesn't it?  Do you know how rare it is for the WIAC Champion to run the table in the #1 toughest conference in the country and they did it two years in a row?  So the gap between the top of the OAC and the top of the WIAC is getting closer.  UWLC and UWW have put some distance between themselves and the rest of the WIAC the last few years.

Hey, at least I'm using facts to back up my position.  That's more than most do in here.

FWIW, I still stick by my opinion that the top of the OAC is better than the top of any other conference.  WIAC included!

Now this statement I can live with since the top of the OAC is MUC!  ;)  But it needs to say, "Very Top."  ;D

I have seen alot of the conferences top teams over the past 5 years and I'll say the OAC is the deepest conference in the nation.  I think every conference has 1 or 2 teams that are really good.  The OAC has about 5 MUC, ONU, CAP, BW, JCU.  I will stand to this any day that if you take the top 4 teams in the OAC put them in different regions there would be an all OAC final four. I'm speaking recent history like the last 3 years.

Seen a lot of WIAC games this year, have you?   Quick, let Pat and Keith know.  They screwed up and ranked the WIAC the toughest (deepest,) conference again this year!    If you want to use terms like, "deepest conference," don't you have to include the entire conference?

If you put UWW in the OAC the last two years, would they make the playoffs?  Some folks may laugh at that question, but I think it's valid.  What are the odds that they stumble against one of the following teams: JCU, ONU, Capital, BW?  Remember, every OAC team not called Mount Union usually has one loss going into the season.  To make the playoffs most years a team has to go unbeaten against the rest of the schedule...it's not an easy thing to do.  There have been plenty of very good teams that stumble, only to go 8-2 and miss the playoffs.  Top to bottom the WIAC is the best conference, but the OAC is extremely top heavy.  Right now the OAC makes up 1/5 of the top 25 and 30% of the top 10.  That is absolutely nuts if you stand back and think about it.

YES I stand by what I said.  I have a different thought then the rankings from this year.  I don't past as an expert but I do alot of traveling and saw WW this year and plan on seeing them again later in the season.  I stand by what I said I FEEL THE OAC IS THE DEEPEST top to bottom.

Now, phrased like that, I can agree! Comparing only the top!  But GGB seems to want to forget about the OAC's bottom feeders and still claim the deepest conference!   ;D

Speaking of moving teams into other conferences, how do you think these teams would fare in the WIAC?

Wilmington
Heidelberg
Marietta
Muskingum

I don't forget about the bottom feeders.  I thnki those teams with the exception of ETTaA wouldn't fare that bad in the WIAC.

::) ::) :o :o  WOW.........that is my cue to move on.  Have a great day!

Well looking at the styles of play in the OAC compared to the WIAC and the fact I've seen these two conferences in action I stand by what I said.  That's just my thoughts you can agree or disagree, but from what I have seen those are my thoughts

I think you're wrong on that one.  Heidelberg just won their first game in four years for God's sake.
