I don't forget about the bottom feeders.  I thnki those teams with the exception of ETTaA wouldn't fare that bad in the WIAC.

::) ::) :o :o  WOW.........that is my cue to move on.  Have a great day!

I'm not saying they will win the WIAC I just don't see them doing any worse than the bottom feeders in the WIAC.

I'll be in Ada this Saturday and am looking forward to seeing Mount's offense & defense play for more than 2 quarters.  ONU appears to be very strong this season so it should be exciting.  Even with great defenses on the field I'm going to predict that Mount will put up nearly 600 yards in total offense. Ric...please save me some pizza.

Thoughts on Easterbook:

He's garbage, and 3/4 of his article was inaccurate, and the editor who let it out is garbage, attacking a team of amateur athletes, it makes me sick.

As for the Raider/Bear tackle football contest on saturday, I'm not sure the Bears will ever make it close again after the whole christmas card thing.

The stadium at ONU really makes the players look forward to the trip though, esp the ONU students in the endzone, it really makes for a great time!!

The Sabres open on Monday, its gonna be a great year!!

Then if that is your opinion we know how strongly to value your other opinions.  enough said that this is a ridiculous statement.

Ric,

One Question?

How can you base your information off of a few people who played?

Sorry I have actually another question

Did you play? If no then maybe your comments are better off being kept to yourself

Please allow those who have played to comment on the physicallity of a team

Stadiums would be pretty empty if only former players were allowed to care about football.

I agree with those that think the WIAC is stronger top to bottom--our bottom teams would, I think, still be bottom teams in the WIAC--and if you took the four bottom teams from the WIAC and the four bottom teams from our conference and put them in a conference together, I think that it would be hard for the OAC representatives to break into the top three--at least at this point.

Give Mike another year or two at Heidelberg, get 'Etta a little more experience....then maybe.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

JK

I will be at Capital this weekend.  My 10- year reunion follows the game.  Wait, that makes me feel old.  Let's just say I have a class reunion following the game  ;D

Anyway, on the game, I am a bit concerned.  What we know for sure is that D. Alexander is done for the year.  Assman and WR Evan Blake might also be out.  The Cap sports info dept. hasn't released the game notes with the 2-deep yet, so I can't even go there to look.

The Cap D is nasty, hopefully if the O has to break in a few new starters, the D can shut down JCU like they have everyone else all year thus far, although JCU is no Witt, Wilma, Heidi, or Etta.  Of course if the JCU that allowed it's QB to spend most of the day on his back against ONU shows up, then the D might be able to.  If the JCU that knocked off BW shows up, who knows...

Either way, I'll give you all my thoughts after seeing both teams live.

Anyone else from the board going to be at the game?  Drop me a personal message and maybe we can meet.

But that's just the point - the WIAC doesn't HAVE 'bottom-feeders'!  Naturally, someone has to come in on the bottom in any given season (this isn't Lake Wobegon), but even their 'bottom' teams are pretty darn good by overall d3 standards.  In this years' Kickoff, the LOWEST WIAC team (Stout) is 94th (out of 238 teams); in contrast, Wilmington is 130th, Muskingham is 141st, and Heidelberg is 199th.

Yes, these are 'only' opinions (and may or may not reflect their views half-way through the season), but I suspect they would be well-supported by real-world facts.

EDIT: apologies to MuskingUM - my inability to spell is why I usually just say 'Musky'! :-[

Uhhhh, did I miss the time warp where we just skipped back a couple weeks?  I thought we just addressed that nonsense.

D3 Poster

JK, from what I saw, without Assman, the Capital offense was not very pretty or productive.  Hopefully, there is someone waiting in the wings to step-up.

Hmm, two good match-ups, maybe I should try to take in either the MUC/ONU or Cap/JCU game as an opener before hitting the big game at 7 pm...Muskies vs Pios.

Presto

first time i've been on since saturday, first time i've wanted to be on really. i'm just sick over bw laying an egg against carroll.  my fears were realized and that is even though this is a very good defense the offense is suspect.  and that cost us last weekend.  we shouldn't have even got it to ot but we should have won that game in 4 quarters if that makes any sense.

Presto

and btw mount union is the most physical team i know. one of the reasons they are where they are.
