Hey Dusty......about the same time SJU agrees to a home and home opening game series with Mount!   ;D

2010 & 2011 may still be available.  :D

That'd be cool 'cept I think you guys should play here both times cuz we got whupped twice at your place... although the beer was fairly cold at Brenda's.   ;D

Everybody knows the place to go after Mount games in the Hood.  Where else can you get cans of beer, 8 foot ceilings, and patrons who squint whenever natural light comes into the bar.

I like the bit about natural light....

Just drove through Menomonie, WI today, home of the Stout Blue Devils where light is nearly as scarce.   8)

I was just wondering how the MHB/UWW game came about.  Are there many games with two teams so far apart geographically? This late in the season? It just seemed suprising to me for two teams ranked as high as they are to play a game out of thier region in week 9.  Do the teams in smaller confrences have trouble scheduling games?
You might have better luck asking these questions on ASC or WIAC boards.  Bye weeks for both of them maybe?

(It's 13-1 Boston after 5 1/2.  The boards beat that kind of excitement!)

Dusty,

Let's get it set up. But no watering the lawn! ;D

Stiftungfest Ohio Style! Has a nice ring to it.

More likely Salem style. But that's OK too.

Re-developing.

ONUFB77,

The WIAC teams always have trouble filling their 10 game schedules. Add to the fact they have issues with local teams not wanting to play them they have to look outside the region in many cases to get the chance to play 10 games.

Whitewater played Mount in a home and home series in order to fill the schedule but also to measure their progress against top competition. This is kind of a dream match-up especially out of the playoff format. Last years game I believe was 10-7 in the rain in Texas. If you look at all the teams in the WIAC you will see quite a few long distance match-ups for this same reason. Makes them a better conference from the experience.

The whole problem if you want to a call it that is the the OAC only has that one open date out of conference to fill so choices are pretty limited. I am looking forward to next years MUC against the other St. Johns as in Fisher for the next two years. Then on to the another St Johns Collegeville  ;)style....we can dream can't we? ;)

CU vs MU

I would really like CU's chances with Assmann and Alexander this week.  But.......If Cap is going to win every bounce must go their way.  MUC is the king of big plays following an opponent score, so  Cap must minimize MU big plays, win the field position battle, and keep their defense off the field.  I really hope that Cap is fired up not only to play MUC but plays really pissed off because of the way they played last week.

Good luck to both teams.

ESPN must have felt bad about Easterbrook.  Here's a pretty nice article about Mount Union from their wire.  It's not one of their own, but at least they linked to the AP.

Presto

it seems like every year after playing mount union i wonder why bw didn't give that effort every week and i feel that way again this year. not that bw would have won but they missed so many scoring opportunities in the game i thought it was a good effort by both lines and the defense overall. now i feel like winnning out is possible.

Great story!

If anyone ever wondered what LK is really about that story gives a small glimpse into what he thinks, and what his emphasis is on with his players.

BRAVO!

I see a special play-off run developing with chances at "revenge games" and to play a team that LK would LOVE to pound.

Mount just needs to take care of business these next few weeks.

I'm curious who "that" team might be?  :o

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I'm not convinced that this year's game will be a nail biter, so the most interesting part of this game to me maybe the Garcon/Starks match-up.

I think Starks is a better db than Gunter...both are good.  I see that Pierre had two and four catches last year against the Cru, but assume that was more because of the running success MUC achieved than a shut-down corner?

Actually 7-3, and dry as a bone. But yeah, great game.

I'm really looking forward to this Saturday simply because I want to judge how good MUC's offense really is.  I know Cap's D will bring it and MUC needs a good test before the playoffs.  Hard to judge them so far because ONU has not looked as good as many thought they'd be and BW always plays MUC tougher than they should.  So I'm looking at this game to be the last real test of MUC's offense.  I'd be very surprised if they roll thru Cap's D like they did ONU's.  Will this be the only regular season game where Kmic gets 25+ carries?.

Thru 7 weeks, the only weakness I see in the MUC "O" is the lack of a vertical passing game.  The WR core is deep and talented and Micheli makes very good decisions with the ball, but I question whether he has the true arm strength to stretch the field vertically.

I would never press cover MUC's receivers...specifically Garcon and Shorts.  Micheli can get vertical with them in a hurry.
