Great story!

If anyone ever wondered what LK is really about that story gives a small glimpse into what he thinks, and what his emphasis is on with his players.

BRAVO!

I see a special play-off run developing with chances at "revenge games" and to play a team that LK would LOVE to pound.

Mount just needs to take care of business these next few weeks.

I'm curious who "that" team might be?  :o

I would imagine it's UMHB who came to Alliance and beat them in the quarter finals the year they didn't get to the Stagg.  Linfield beath UMHB that year.  I could, of course, be wrong.  But I doubt it.

One week after completely blowing the spreads, this week is a good one in that four of the games are tied as the Pick-Em of the Week at 53% to 47%:

MUC (-37.5) over Capital
Otterbein (-19.5) over Muskingum
Mary Hardin Baylor (-1.5) over Whitewater
New Jersey (+13.5) over Cortland State

Yippie!  Four games have even distribution.

The Lock of the Week is Heidelberg (-6.5) over Marietta at 93% to 7%.  Who would have thought a few months ago that the Berg would have ever been The Lock and GIVING points????  Congrats Coach Hallett and Company!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Raiderpa.....I have never heard or seen a Walsh or Malone person refer to Mount as Chicken as you say.We have played Malone in JV football and both schools in baseball and some womens sports.Walsh and Malone football people NEVER mention Mount Union football.Personally I hope we never play them, but as an individual in this area that sees these teams play and their respective talent,we're talking middle of the pack to upper middle of the pack OAC.Hallett might be national coach of the year.

On my way to Bexley for the game of the week.   Hope the rain holds off and the boys rise to the occasion.  37.5 is alot to cover.    go Raiders!

I had to check Ric's Proud Raider Data Vault because I didn't remember "...the year..."  they didn't get to the Stagg.  Their first trip to the Stagg was in 1993, they have stayed home four times.  (I know - hard to believe).

They lost the playoff game to MH-B in 2004 and are on an 0-1 streak against MH-B.  They have another 1 game losing streak in the playoffs, in 2003, Mount lost to St. John's (MN).  Some may think those streaks need to be stopped at an early date.  Also, in the playoffs, Mount is just 2-2 vs Wis-LaX.

But, really, would any coach of student athletes seek revenge against an opposing coach or team?  Would any highly successful coach need to?

I think revenge is too strong a word.  How about redemption?

For the Class of '71 reunion in June of 1996 a questionaire was sent out to the class members, the answers to which were published and handed out at the reunion.  One of the questions was, "What's the one thing you most want to do before you die?"

LK's answer was. "Beat Wisconsin LaCrosse."  But he's done that twice since then, so I doubt they qualify.

Beat the heavily favored Berg!

It is neither MHB, or SJU.  I think I stated that clearly in my earlier post.

There is a certain coach, from a certain team, who disparaged LK, the Mount program, and some of its players to the wrong person.  It may be more of a grudge I am holding, but it was mentioned at one time by the great man himself.

I would think if Mount gets to play that particular team, LK wouldn't mind at all if there just happened to be a pummeling and then some.

But then again........one of the reasons he has accomplished all that he has is his ability to keep "in the moment".

GO MOUNT......keep your eye on the prize!

s_s,
would you be giving it away if you mentioned a certain state for this certain team? Would it be a certain state with certain restrooms that a certain senator from Idaho likes?

I can.  So far it's quite a defensive battle.  Capital is winning field position so far.

muc-raider

Capital attempted a 50-yard FG.  Had the distance, but missed.

Start of 2nd Quarter.
Capital takes over on their own 5 yard line following punt.
No score.

Wizardman

MUC FINALLY scores, making it 7-0 over Capital.

BW's beating ONU 7-0 after a 30-yd scramble by Gardner.

Should be quite the exciting afternoon
