After a drive saving face mask call against ONU on a QB sack, BW scores on a 1 yard run with 1 second remaining in the game to beat ONU 21-18.

Wilmington beat John Carroll in OT 42-35.

70's, I sat with them at Homecoming brunch 9 years ago.  I brought my parents and my Dad is a Western Reserve grad, so they had that to discuss (Dr. Saffell went to grad school there).

thoughts on Cap game.  Mt. defense outstanding,  Mt. offense very conservative today.   They seemed to be playing not to make any mistakes.  Although the way the game started was bizarre.  Kmic fumbled on the first play and Cap fumbled it back on their first play.   Cap still doesn't have much of a running game.  Backup QB  running for his life most of the game and not very accurate with his passes.  Cap defense was outstanding but they got tired as they were on the field most of the day.   It almost looked liked LK took it easy on this opponent.  Ran kmic almost all day, passed when he needed to do so.  Tuning up for the playoffs?

reality check

Some real battles today in the OAC.

Wilmington pulls off a pretty nice upset against the Streaks.

BW pulls one out in honor of Coach Packard and to the demise of my Bears.  Lenny Trusnik tallies 20 tackles in the loss.

MUC holds off another top-tier OAC foe.  We have ONU, BW and CAP all losing big but I guess they can all take the fact that they've "held" the Raiders below their average output and scoring spread as a positive.  So if MUC rolls through the remainder of the regular season and playoffs, do these schools feel good about losing to MUC by just 30 to 40-something points?!?

Otterbein has been a pleasant surprise and their efforts against MUC, be it against first of second teams is looking better and better in retrospect.

My thoughts on the Cap v MUC game.  First and foremost is that I hope #21 Matt Coleman for Cap is ok after being carted off the field. This is a game that these kids are lucky to play and they all played hard.

Cap's Defense is legit! They kept them in the game. A few mistakes on special teams put the defense in a bad situation and Mount capitalized. The d-tackles are monsters, the middle linebacker is huge and James Starks played lights out. I don't know if many people saw this, but Pierre Garacon called starks out on a 3rd and 9 and tried a hitch and go which Starks didn't even bite on. The result was a sack and of course, Garcon kept running his mouth. Garcon is a great ball player, but be humble and show a little class.

Mounts O- Could be very explosive in the playoffs and ran Kmic over 30 times but for only a little over 100+ yards. Held Cap's D-lineman all day, but didn't get called.

Caps O- Had to rely on the run because the passing game wasn't working. To be honest, Cap's QB looked like he was running for his life. Time to put that game under your belt, realize it wasn't as bad as they thought and get better for next week.  Thought I may see a screen or two with Mount coming after him. Coach Collins was a genius today by slowing the tempo down and trying to keep Mount off the field.

Mounts D- Very tough. Alot of late hits but good hits also. #47 looked a little juicy if you ask me. The guy is huge! Cap had alot of open receivers if they could get them the ball. They also had some dropped passes.

Overall, With Assmann and Alexander.....totally different game!

Reading all the whining in your post, perhaps you shoud take your own advice

Kmic ONLY rushed for 114 yards - as compared to Cap's 92 yards of TOTAL offense

And please don't come on here after a loss and start throwing around steriod accusations

15 years into this streak and some people still think it's all cheating-You simply don't know who Larry Kehres is.

tdubs, nice "spin" on gettin' whupped.

I'm not even an OAC fan and yet understand the frustration all Mount fans would have with your accusations.

For those curious, we were told after the game that Matt Coleman will be fine.  He had full movement of all pieces parts, but was knocked out cold.  They were just being very careful.
