Seventies....I was not whinning. You're right, Cap did only have 92 yards rushing, but I was giving credit to Cap's Defense for holding Kmic to 114 on 32 carries. In most games he would have alot more yards on that many carries. Cap's offense was horrible today. I gave credit and criticism to both teams, so don't get mad.

I'm not accussing anyone of using steroids. Just stating that one player looked a little bit bigger than everyone else out there. Not accussing an entire team of being on steroids. I know how LK is and he's first class. I didn't say the team is cheating....MAYBE ONE guy is cheating himself, but that's it.

Hiker Jim......it's not a spin on getting "whupped!" Yes, Cap did get WHIPPED, but I was just stating my opinion of what I took from the game. For the most part, alot of them were facts of the game except for the one so called accusation.

Mount deserved to win that game and they did. I meant no disrespect what so ever. I have nothing but high regards for both programs.

For the record, Capital STILL has a great defense ;)

Saying the CAP D was held all day long without MUC getting called is not a fact.  That's your opinion and we both know as former linemen that a hold could be called on just about every play if you really wanted to look hard enough.  Accusing even one player in the light of a loss sounds like "sour grapes" to me and many others I'm sure.

MUC blocks kicks and has safeties against ONU and CAP.  I think BW gets the most kudos at this point for playing MUC "as tough as they did" on MUC's home turf.  ONU couldn't slow the Raider offense but did manage a little on their side of the ball.  CAP held the MUC offense in check but couldn't do much of anything.  BW has the most to hold their head up about on O and D in my opinion and yet they lost by almost the same results as CAP and ONU.  I guess MUC is pretty good.

Hope1

I'm so sorry to hear of your unfortunate circumstance.

Kmic's stat lines:

CAP: 36 for 114 3 TD
BW: 26 for 116 0 TD
WIL: 10 for 85 1 TD
ONU: 17 for 96 1 TD
HEID: 18 for 128 4 TD
MUS: 7 for 39 2 TD
OTT: 13 for 126 3 TD
AVE: 7 for 156 4 TD

CAP can take solice in the fact that this was his biggest "workhorse" effort but they didn't exactly hold him down in terms of production.  BW's the only team to keep him out of the endzone and perhaps the only reason ONU fared as well as they did is the fact that Wray was tearing them up and was a hot hand.

I have been going to MUC games since 1977.  No team comes close to their talent, size, speed and depth.  (1997 would be the closest).  From what I am seeing in DIII, only Mary Hardin Baylor would be able to give Mount a real game.  Does anyone know that much about MHB?

After today's results, maybe you want to re-phrase your question? Could only Whitewater give Mount a real game?... or Who would be able to give Mount a real game?

Now there's an innovative thought: a Stagg Bowl matching up MUC and UWW! :o ;D

For those curious, we were told after the game that Matt Coleman will be fine.  He had full movement of all pieces parts, but was knocked out cold.  They were just being very careful.

Thanks, so glad to hear that! Wow, it sure was a scare and the total silence was about deafening. When i saw his parents go to the field it was a bit scary, but glad to know it may not be a bad as initially thot!  and BTW nice call again on the 37.5 ... :o

Thanks, but I was really hoping MUC would go for 2 after the Bruney TD to make it 38-0 >:(
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

mtfan, incredible.  Could be a record play.  I'll leave the research to the experts.  Thanks for the link.  :D

Reality,
I don't have sour grapes. In all honesty, I thought Cap would hold their own for awhile and then lose. A loss is a loss, life goes on. It's just college football, not the end of the world. If you were at the game, you would see that Cap's Dlineman #54 was being held big time. His jersey  was pulled up and twisted behind him on alot of plays. I know holding could be called on most plays, but this was obvious. It doesn't change the outcome of the game, but it's just principal. As far as accussing a player and the "sour grapes" comment, I apologize if I offended anyone. I was just once again stating my opinion on ONE player. He didn't win the game for Mount, so it doesn't matter. It's a kids health that's in jeopardy, that's all.

By the way, good job on doing your homework on all of those stats. Did they teach you that at Badin? lol Or was it CJ?

I count 13 laterals but could have missed some as the quality of the video is a bit rough from the far side and going by the announcer's call. Either way, to pull that off is a miracle. I beleive the speed of Mount's D would choke an attempt like that, but could you see Mount's O trying that? WOW, think that would be a blast! What would be even more fun is hearing how Ric or Hscoach would call such a play, lol  ;D  BTW, thanks on the +karma

thoughts on Cap game.  Mt. defense outstanding,  Mt. offense very conservative today.   They seemed to be playing not to make any mistakes.  Although the way the game started was bizarre.  Kmic fumbled on the first play and Cap fumbled it back on their first play.   Cap still doesn't have much of a running game.  Backup QB  running for his life most of the game and not very accurate with his passes.  Cap defense was outstanding but they got tired as they were on the field most of the day.   It almost looked liked LK took it easy on this opponent.  Ran kmic almost all day, passed when he needed to do so.  Tuning up for the playoffs?

See last years Cap vs. MUC game...it was Kmic, right...Kmic, left...Kmic, up the middle...etc.  Why pass to one of the better defense backfields in D3, when your up & you can control the clock with an All-American RB & a juicy O-Line??  Smart move by LK if you ask me...but, who am I??

cufan

RC.........I would take holding Kmic to 3 yards a carry any day.  If someone would have  told me Kmic would ave. 3 yrds a carry and Garcon would only catch a few passes I would of thought Cap pulled it out.  I am not sure if Caps O was that bad or MU defense is that good.

I felt the 1st quarter set up perfectly for Cap.  Kmic fumbles on the first possession and then our defense gives the offense great field position.

MU size didn't overwhelm as past years, but they are extremley fast at every position.

Hopefully Cap can get the O going and finish with 2 big wins and get into the playoffs.
