Mr Ypsi,

If IWU did win the conference, that would bode well for Mount St. Joe, as they have beaten IWU this year.

Yeah, but it would add Wheaton to the pool C competition.

I have not read Mr. Franz's article but Mount as the second best team? Who's crack pipe is he smoking from?

He didn't specify d3 teams.  You gonna give me points when they take on OSU? ;D

Much as I respect (all right, am in awe of!) MUC, I'd say 2nd is a bit of hyperbole.  Do any of you really think MUC would have a chance against any of the MAC teams?

JK,

Don't worry about IWU as a C - can't happen!  Since they already have two losses, if they finish 8-2 it means they beat NCC and Wheaton and would be the AQ.  However, NCC could finish 8-2 and be a C candidate.  I believe that Cap would probably rate ahead of them, but haven't done the calculations.  And it is probably true that a 9-1 C-candidate Wheaton would be ahead of Cap.

Mr. Y-

You're right.  Sorry I missed that.  The gist on that conference remains the same, though... Cap need wheaton to win out, because if anyone else gets the AQ from that conference, A 9-1 Wheaton gets selected before an 8-2 Cap, but I think an 8-2 Cap goes before an 8-2 NCC.

I think they could take Northern Illinois.  Hell, Toledo had to pull a "Kehres" just to keep their score down to 70.

As far as MAC in Ohio ... Kent is sad but probably not bad enuf to lose to a D3.

For those of you who haven't seen Mount Union's  local Alliance, Ohio paper "The Review", there was a nice article on a family rivalry taking place between the Petruziello brothers is this week's match up between JCU & MUC. Wish the Petruziello family a great family reunion on saturday, along with a Mount victory... of course! ;D

Boy, things are getting a little snarky on here aren't they?  What happened to the good old days when we actually talked d3 football and didn't spend a considerable part of our time belittling one another.

Let's stick with important topics like--Is Stone Station still going to the Stagg, even though their team is probably eliminated from the playoffs?  Is Olinemom finally going to cheer for Mount this year, or will she continue to support the opposing team.  Is Mount even going to make it to the Stagg?

Where is all the bravado from the opponents about "you haven't seen anything like us ?"

This is JCU week for Mount and nobody has even mentioned the game.  What's up?

Hey Theaprof, Stone Station will be at the Stagg Bowl.  Planning is in the works.  I've got new recipes that I've been trying out.  As to cheering, it will depend on whether any of my teams get to the Stagg Bowl.  Shall I list them?  BC will not be there, that's a given.  But there are other teams that I cheer for on  a consistent basis:  Linfield (I even got to a game out there this fall), UWW, UMHB and whatever ODAC gets to the playoffs.  But no matter who is there, you know that both teams will get the same amount of brownies baked with love right in there.  I still haven't met Chuck Moore, which I would like to do.  Everybody else at Stone Station has met him.  And there will be plenty of brownies for the tailgate.  Looking forward to seeing you'all.  It's simply one of the best days of the year, after which comes the long drought!!  No D3 football for a zillion days!!!!!

Here's hoping we're all in Salem this December. Kevin and I are off to University Heights for the JCU-Mount game after his basketball practice and having lunch with some of my misguided former athletes who choose John Carroll. 8) 8)

Nice article but not fully accurate.  It talkes about Mark Petruziello leaving OU when Head Coach Frank Solich left OU to go to Nebraska.  Isn't Solich still the current HC at OU?

I beleive you're right, Solich has been there for 3-4 yrs now, but came from the Cornhuskers after being there nearly 30 yrs! Well, wouldn't be the first time "The Review" was abit off.  ;D

I sure hope we're there for the brownies and Stone Station, was a wonderful time! You'll have to come join us too, as i know we are planning an even larger tailgater this time, and i know alot of you D3'ers were at our tent. This time the shrimp shouldn't run out!

Kent State is not enough of a TEAM, and might well lose to MUC. Ive seen em play. Remember, size doesnt always trump skill. Technique and game smarts still apply too.

Also Bob Frantz's article rated MUC second only to OSU in his article. Go read it for yourself....its a free publication, even though it says $2.00 on the cover. If you are wondering why a radio sportshost is even aware of D3 teams........hes a grad of an OAC school. Not that that would color his view any. ;)
