Under 8 minutes left....

BW 27
Ott 20

muc-raider

Mount Union wins with another shutout, 53-0.

Outright OAC Champ.

BW and Otterbein trade TD's....34-27 BW in the 4th.

Final:

ONU 35
Berg 10

Hopefully someone who was at the game can shed some light on this, but it looked like both Pankratz and Simmons played in the 1st qtr.  Then Simmons played the remainder of the game finishing 16-22 for 242 yds and 2 TD's.  Meadows ended up with 20 carries so hopefully he's back to 100%.

reality check

Simmons gets the start and most of the snaps at QB and goes 16 of 22 for 242 and 2 TD's (O ints).  Pretty solid effort from what I read on the stat sheet.

4 TO's (3 fumbles and 1 INT by Pankratz) is not good though.  The Berg is certainly improved from recent years.  Great to see their effort and improvement.  Simmons seems to be taking over the controls at QB.  He's mobile and appears to be a more consistent passer than anyone expected.

Wow, I expected more from John Carroll.  Mount Union went easy on them.  The Raiders stopped trying to score early in the 3rd Q.  Mount was playing on cruise control after that i.e. kicking field goals at the 2 yard line rather than score the easy touchdown.

I couldn't believe it.   LK was giving JCU Christmas Field Goals.
Mount' O, D and Special Teams all excelled today.
And Mike Zimmerman now has the D3 record for consecutive extra points.

BW 37, Otterbein 27 Final

Gotta love punt blocks for TD's; that turned the momentum around 180 for BW.

Many thanks to Ohio Northern and B-W for beating the spread!  :D

I'd think that will be a tough record to break seeing as how most kickers don't have the chance to attempt more than 25 a season.  Zimmerman has over 60 this year alone.  The OAC has a good group of kickers across the board but even ONU's Heaphy only has 33 PAT's in his nearly 2 seasons.

Zimmerman, Spitz, Heaphy and the Berg's Hawkins are all excellent kickers.  The OAC is fortunate to have so many good legs.

Etta wins 38-14 over Wilma behind 35 first half points for the Pios.

Dexter Hughes passes for 399 yards and 4 TD's.  Rumor has it Dexter Hughes looks a lot like Josh Vrabel   ::)

Wilma's Blackburn goes for 332 yards and 2 TD's but Wilma only managed 8 yards rushing against the "stout" Pioneer defense.

I'll still take whoever Marietta plays next week.  I just think whoever plays the Pioneers next has a chance to get a W.   ;)

Capital downs Musky 19-13...a little closer than I was expecting there.

I've seen Cap 4 times this season (Witt, ONU, Ott, MUC) and I cannot say enough about their defense.  Very impressive.  Especially when you consider the relative lack of a running game and injuries hurting the passing game on offense has caused them to be on the field often.  IMHO that's the best non-MUC defense I've seen since I've followed the OAC.  Granted that's no where near as long as some have been around, but it's still over a decade...even if just barely.

Went to the MUC-JCU football game today. There were more Raider fans present than JCU fans,no kidding.Very poor turnout for the Streaks senior day.JCU stinks.Their offensive line, and I use the term loosely, could not stop a three man MUC rush.I cannot imagine how they beat BWC.They bear no resemblance to the great or good JCU teams of the recent past.Their players and coaches should be embarrassed and ashamed. They didn't want to play today and should have stayed in their dorm rooms.I also noticed the usual large contingent of former players was conspicuously absent.

purple,
Thanks for posting your observations.  Regis should be ashamed of himself for letting things get that bad.

Congratulations to the Raiders on another OAC Crown.

We could see a four way tie for second.
12-0 = 13

I wonder how much the recent state of things in their pipeline (i.e. the Cuyahoga County parochial schools) has effected them.  The last few years it seems like there's 1 of the traditional powers that's good, but the others may be down by their standards.  I guess I'm just saying that I think the success those schools have at the HS level is a factor in the talent JCU gets.  Just a thought...
