I bet Cap's 2007 football graduates are asking why this bracket could not of showed up in 2006...I think it would of handled the "OAC is overrated" debate ;)

funny, I was thinking the same thing!
BRING BACK PENTELLO!!  ;)
Yeah OAC, weak.....LMAO, maybe an off year abit from the past few but judging by the accumulated total playoff record of 40-9 vs. 7-5, not much more needs to be said.

And yeah I think he was just saying this year they are down, I don't think anybody believes the OAC is consistently overrated.

P.S. the 7-5 record is partly due to the fact the E8 formed in 2002.  If you count the playoff history of some of the teams in the E8 (Ithaca winning 3 national championships and appearing in numerous other National Championship games, Springfield going deep in the past, etc.) I think we would have much more than 7 playoff wins.

I don't think SJFF82 was referring to the past results of the OAC.  We all know how successful they have been, especially in the playoffs.  I think SJFF82 is referring to the OAC this season.  Other than Mount Union, the teams were a bit weaker than in the past.  I have alot of respect for the OAC.  And, I would hope that you guys would have some respect for the E8, since Fisher did give Mount Union a great game last year in the semi-finals.  Fisher was the 2nd best team in the country last year, in my opinion.

I will agree with you that this season the OAC is not had the strength its had over the previous few years. Most of the stronger teams throughout the conference were wiped out with graduations such as ONU, JCU, CAP and BW actually the past few years. I have no disrespect for the E8, they have some proven quality competition as we seen with SJF and IC  has had some historic years a while back, its just when you are given a thumb in the eye regarding the week in, week out schedule the OAC normally posesses....well....hmmmm.....guess the play next saturday will determine that!

Gotcha, do remember its starting in 2002, there is great tradition in both conferences. Wittenberg was in the OAC at one time too, a while back, if you're add in others.

I changed my mind. I not only want Mount to break 700 points - I want them to score 700 points in the playoffs! Was just reading some comments on the front - the usual 'Mount does not have to prepare for the likes of (insert teams here) week in and week out' yada-yada-yada, blah, blah, blah. More of the standard "Mount has not seen a team like us before". Well here is the reality. Many teams have wished they could play Mount - only to have the wish granted and then get Monkeystomped. The OAC 2nd has won the East before and Mount has beaten the best from the East before (Rowan more times than I can count). SJF hung tough last year - but Kmic was a machine and the passing game was down. Kmic singlehandedly dominated that game.

To the East: I wish you all luck and success in the playoffs.
To Mount: ROLL RAIDERS! RUN NATE RUN! FLY PIERRE FLY! And all that Jazz!

I tried to get Kmic to come to Fisher after that game, talk about a man crush.  Fisher is not as good as last years team and it appears Mount Union is even better, so if the teams were to meet this year I don't think the outcome would be the same.  But I will say the defense for Fisher seems to be playing better of late.  The numbers may not reflect it but they are hitting hard and seem to be pretty fast.  Stepnick is our backbone, he did a good job matching up against Garcon last year although I do remember a couple of instances where Garcon did get seperation but the QB couldn't deliver the ball to him.

Sorry for upsetting you...'usee' ....I will keep my opinion to myself from here on out.

You haven't upset me. My team is watching this from the sidelines. I am not an OAC guy as I have said. You can say whatever you want. in fact I encourage it. it is very entertaining.

Already the crap has started.  Why would I think this year would be any different?

I am curious though, how else do you expect people facing Mount Union for the first time to act?  They are psyching themselves up, so let them.  It's not much fun if you look at the game and with a defeated attitude and just pack it in.  Sure it can be cocky and they may not be giving enough deserved credit (mainly to the conference) but really, what other kinds of reactions are you expecting?

Good job on that Ric.  Some interesting stats I noticed from the rundown from an Ithaca alum....

-MUC has 13 interceptions for 311 total yards in return!  Compared to Ithacas 8/56yds.

-MUC averages 7.5 yards per play to Ithacas 6.5 yards per play. (closer than I would think)

-MUC has 78 penalties per game for 787 yards.  (Isn't that a lot?)

-MUC has scored more points in the first half (of their games) than Ithaca has all year.

Ric

Nice to see you as well Usee.  I know you must be hurting right now, especially with the way things fell Wheaton and Mount wouldn't have matched up till a possible Stagg encounter.

scheckelkn14, you can expect a very well prepared, hard hitting team.  Capital is well coached.  They're a bit banged up this year though, having lost their starting QB and best WR so they will be a decided underdog this weekend.  But they will give it a great effort.

Jonny Utah, one of the INT's was returned 100 yards.

Just a quick mention to go over to our MIAA board and read my post regarding the great new book that just came out on college football.  For those of you interested in its history, this is a "must add" to your personal library collections.
