A Mount Union Cheerleader knows that 60 points on the board means she's going to do 312 push ups!  :o

In that case, I hope that Mount Union's cheerleaders are the bosomy type, so that they don't have to go as far to touch the ground when they're doing all of those pushups. ;)

+karma for very professionally bringing.....uh....boobs into the discussion.  Well done!

I'm simply thinking of the cheerleaders, WT. Would you want to have to do 312 pushups, even if you were still at the spritely young age of 20?

Any way that they can cut corners with regard to such an onerous task is something for which any compassionate person should wish, I would think. Am I right?

Only way they cut corners is when LK shuts down the scoring machine!! ;D

Congrats to Capital making its 3rd straight playoff appearance.. It is also nice to see Capital in a different region than Mount.  Althought  WW is not going to be a pushover by any means.  Good luck to Capital on their quest for a National Title.  Lets hope that the defense holds up and that Rocky Pentello gets Robbie Thayer going

All this "MUC hasn't been scored upon since September" and "they're untouchable" is the exact reason I was hoping Marietta would score a TD on the Raiders in the 1st quarter last Saturday.

These streaks (whether they be winning, scoring, etc.) are nice for the fans, but I'm not sure they're the best for the overall mental state of the players.  Complacency and over confidence are the biggest opponent MUC will likely face in the first couple rounds.

Which is why I like MUC being moved to the East Region so much.  Ithaca (and their entire bracket) should have the Raiders a lot more focused than playing an Olivet or Mt St Joe.

Too bad this wasn't last year because the '06 Capital team had a chance in that bracket.

I knew you had a "good" post in you...

I too wish Capital the best since I didn't mention them in my previous post.  It will be a tough one playing up in cheeseland and they definitely need to find some offense.

Toph and CAP fans

I was watching part of the Williams/Amherst game Saturday and couldn't help but think Capital could have used another receiver with all their injuries this year and they had a pretty good one in their own backyard that got away in 6-5 TE from Williams, Jon Carroll from Bexley, OH.  Of course they would have had to get over his horribly unattractive name and all.  He looked pretty solid and had 3 catches for 32 yards in the win.  It was just a little funny to hear the announcers mention Bexley, OH in the telecast and then taking into consideration his name in light of recent discussions made it even more memorable.  Who knew there were so many Jo(h)n Carroll's that still played football (unlike that Jesuit university in U Heights) ;)
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

I think a healthy 07 team would do very well in this bracket.  I do feel much better with Thayer at QB.  He had a very solid game vs BW.  Tough draw for the Crusaders,  again they will have to lean on their great defense and hopefully come up with some big plays on O and special teams.

I agree. I hope the Crusaders can get it done!

Williams also has a Frosh DB from Worthington, OH (northern suburb of Columbus)...did you know, he has a brother that is a Sr. DB that plays on the MUC Football Team...any takers???

I would expect for Thayer to see a lot of man, so I hope his receivers do not get jammed at the line & can make some plays for him...the running game will be non-existant, but for cap to win this one, they will need to run the ball somewhat effectively (c'mon O-Line this is your time), & win the turnover battle with the defense &/or the special teams making some plays to put points on the board...from what I have gathered, this is the best WWW defense the past 3 seasons & the offense has finally got it together with the transfer qb...I'll cheering for ya Cap, keep it close & lets pull one out in the 4th!!

I was in the field with my ROTC kids from Thursday to Sunday, so I missed a lot...

Glad to see Cap get in.  Tough, tough matchup though.  Wish they would have held to the standard 1 v. 8 and 2 v. 7 matchup though, as I think we would have matched up better against Case, but sending Weidner to Wisconsin probably would have meant another flight for the NCAA.

We all know Cap's Defense is really good-to- great, and maybe if they force TO's and three and outs and give Cap's banged up O a short field, then MAYBE we can knock off UWW-W.  Any way you slice it, however, it looks quite unlikely that Cap will get to a point they will match up with MUC again, so, unfortunately, I suspect that they will "pull a BW."

Someone already asked and someone answered, but forget about seeing any of the injured guys for the playoffs.

All that aside, I think that Cap getting in for the third straight year is a testament to how Collins has built the program and to the depth he has brought in.  Sure, it was a great coaching job getting a banged up team into the playoffs and to #2 in the OAC, but it started with recruiting and the fact that the coaches got kids in who could play to that level when so many starters went down.  If Alexander gets his medical redshirt (which I suspect he will if he applies), Capital's Offense will be back next year, and with most of the front 7 back on D, Capital might have their best team yet if they can replace a few guys here and there.

Lastly, from a Veteran to all my comrades in arms (both past and present), Happy Veteran's Day.  Your service is greatly appreciated.  Without all those who went before me and those who I serve with, I wouldn't be as successful as I am, and we likely wouldn't enjoy talking about football every day as we do.  Hopefully, one day, we'll all meet in Fiddler's Green:

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.

Hey Rscl70:

It actually depends on how Mount get's the 60 points.  If Zimmerman hits 20 field goals then the cheerleaders would actually be doing 630 pushups in that contest.  Sound crazy...yeah just as crazy as the Bengals who scored 21 points on 7 field goals yesterday.  ;)

How many different combinations of touchdowns, extra points, field goals and safeties can there be to reach 60 points and how many push ups would result from each?  Perhaps some math student could work on this for a project, but not me and certainly not at 6:53 AM!  Maybe hscoach could add a line to the pickems....How many push ups will Mount Union Cheerleaders do next Saturday?  :)

Will it be any trouble getting tickets the day of the game?  And did I see somewhere that it was assigned seating there?
