Anyone care to guess what CAPs defense will be able to hold THE BEAV to in rushing yardage? My guess is that they will keep him relatively in check. They were able to play in MUCs backfield more than anyone else this season, and I think that will be the case again this week at Wisky Whitewater. They just need to score with their defense and special teams to help out the offense. I guess Im a CAP backer. For one week at least. ;)

Only 1 week?? If they pull the upset, you better be cheering for them if they keep winning until they play MUC in the Stagg Final...where's he love ;)

What I don't respect is kids that go to one schoo and then leave for reasons besides academics...I might be the only one here that thinks that way

There are 10-20 kids who leave Mount every year when they realize that they aren't going to play or may have to wait several years to get a shot. Do these guys incur Supe's rath as well, or is it just the really talented ones?

i know all these guys.  Its a shame that most of them graduated in May and wont prob wont be in Salem this year if we make it.  I think maybe we should get 5 guys from this board and dress up in purple suits for the Stagg Bowl.  Who wants in on it?

Since we all know that real men wear Purple, and lots of it, I'd love to do it. Hell, anything to get on national tv

ha........ you cap will do well to limit beaver but eventually a lack of offense will nip them in the cheeks and uww's rushing game will take over in the fourth and put it out of reach.
clear?

Except for the "ha......you cap will..." part.  I now know what you were attempting to say.  So you predict a close game for three quarters and an eventual 24 point margin of victory because of UWW's rushing attack in the fourth.  That seems totally probably and not at all unlikely to score so many points in the final quarter of play on the ground against the 3rd ranked rushing defense in DIII.

CAP might lose on Saturday but it probably won't be by 24 points and it certainly won't be because the running game puts up 20 or so points in the fourth quarter on them.

Now that the dust has settled from today's activities, I'd like to say in all seriousness that everyone in their right mind respects Mt. Union for what they have accomplished, and anyone with any common sense would pick them to win it all again this year.

We all are just pulling hard for the East to put in a good showing, and really demonstrate our ability to play ball against the elite.

Many of us including myself were agitated (sp? ... it's late) that MUC was put in the East, but really it's growing on us that it's an opportunity to show what we can do - hopefully we make the most of it.

No disrespect gents - things get said, just let it roll off your backs a bit... it's just how we roll over there (TM LLPP, Inc.):

... that being said, < than 30  :)

For the most part you guys are good doods....I just got sick of Reality Check claiming victory on points which he turned totally upside down, 'because he wanted to.'

You guys have the East's respect.....a select few are arrogant and continue to thumb their nose at a quality program like Ithaca.

If MUC and RPI win this week, I have a feeling you'll get some pretty consistent conversation which you seem to crave.

As I was sick of you putting words and phrases into my mouth.  But I can take solace in the fact that everything I typed was factual and you chose to make assumptions and assertions with regards to the "huge diference" between backs.

And I didn't change topics upside down because I wanted to; I typed a post about career stats because I wanted to look at the two backs' careers on the whole as well.  I'm sorry I didn't continue to post about the same topic which I believed to have already been handled.

I assert that Robinson was a better back in 06 and a better back for his career.  The numbers support my belief.  Assumptions and assertions on your part, I will not apologize for.

I have never thumbed my nose at the quality of Ithaca.  The Bombers are facing the best competition they've seen this year or any year (and I mean ANY year in their history) based on MUC's talent and coaching.  This is probably the most explosive offense and stingiest defense MUC has fielded in the last decade.  It's not Ithaca or the East Region's fault that they're facing the machine.  Ithaca can lose by 40 and still be a very, very good program.  That would put them in the same company as BW, CAP and ONU and that's quite respectable.  If Ithaca keeps it even closer, then I give them enormous kudos.

Go CAP.  Go Mount.  Go OAC.

I think what all Mount fans want to see is.........can WW put away CAP like we did this year?  Very similar circumstances other than it's the play-offs...where everything is amplified.  Relatively speaking.....CAP has no offense.......in ANY conversation....CAP has a great team D.....soooo....is WW close to Mount's offense....and is there D able to hold the CAP offense  to 0, or something close in this game?

Listen CAP fans......don't ever think that Mount fans don't have your back.  We are OAC fans through and through.  If LK says Collins is "the man".....then the average Mount fan says Collins is the man.

GO CAP!

skunks_sidekick

Oh...and one more thing.  To call out RC and say he has "claimed" all these outlandish predictions is silly.  If you have spent anytime on this website then you would know RC is one of the most level-headed, fair "call it like I see 'em" guys here.

For a guy that went to ONU.....he isn't half bad!   ;D

I'll tell you what's a "hoot", saying that the OAC is a solid conference yet here is the average MUC game this year:

MUC:         54
Opponent:  2

Outside of Capital, I don't see what you're talking about. The East will challenge them... An average score of 54-2 you will not see.

No,  but the bottom half of any conference isn't in the postseason. Recalc based on the games against ONU, Capital and Baldwin-Wallace.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to understand the concept that the OAC can be a good conference and Mount Union could still be head and shoulders above the rest of the teams.

We will find out in the next few weeks if scores arent any worse than 37-0 each game.

I believe the bar was set at 30 points by an East poster earlier in the week -- that none of the East teams would lose by 30.

I don't think any of the East teams will lose by more than 30 either.
