Earlier in the week, I had mentioned that the East would probably be a higher level of competition than MUC was used to facing so far this season as it appeared (by the average score per conference game was 51-1) that the OAC may have been off compared to prior years.

That was a highly criticized posture.

For those that saw the IC/MUC game.  And based on that IC scored more points on them in one game than the OAC did in all of '07, has your opinion modified at all regarding the East?

one game doesn't determine whether the East bracket is weaker or stronger than any other. I don't think you can honestly say that Ithaca is really an #8 seed in this bracket as well can you? I don't think Mount feels the east is any weaker than any other bracket, and surely the playoffs should be tougher competition than some of the regular season in the OAC, I know Ithaca would have to say that as well about the playoffs. Ithaca is a very good team, so are some others yet to come out of the east, guess we'll let the playing field determine the rest!

the people at the game say ithica played mount union tough. i cant say for sure not seeing the game, but MUC gained 543 yards of offense while amassing 146 yards in flags. im assuming this tough stuff is coming from ithicas success through the air, seeing as how they couldnt run the ball. so i guess what im asking is did they play them tough, or did they play them close, was the score an indication of how close the game was, or was it closer?

Reality Check: Great call on Cap shutting down UWW rushing attack.

Listening to the game, IC had a TON of missed opportunities in the first 3 qtrs that would of kept the game even closer...

Uncharacteristic drops on 3rd down by their sure handed TE and #1 WR...

4th and 1 on MUC's 27 they rush for -7 by their QB...

1st and goal on MUC's 3 yd line they get picked off...

And on 2 of their 2pt plays they catch the ball short of the goal line but cant get in, 2 fricking yards and they dont run the pattern to the goal line?

IC needed to play flawless to win, they didnt and kept it closer than anyone outside the east would of thought.  These types of plays seem indicative of how the bombers played all year. They'll either wow you or make you bang your head against the wall with their miscues (This is coming from a fan from a conference rival)....

To your point on is IC a true 8 seed - no.  I think most in the Region thought that Wick  was.

I know nothing about TCNJ so who knows, maybe the pt. margin will be back to OAC level, or maybe it will prove to be a close game, I don't know.

I think SJF has a tough or mystery match up in Curry.  11-0, and won pretty convincing today.

Reality Check: Great call on Cap shutting down UWW rushing attack.

I don't know if that's supposed to be a dig or a compliment.  The score was not indicative of the outcome as has been said.  The prediction I argued against was that UWW/CAP would be tight for 3 quarters but would end up a 24 point game because of UWW's rushing game late.

So UWW took care of business and won by 20 but there second half points came on a long TD pass and a fumble return for a TD.  While Beaver and Jones had a very good game on the ground, UWW did most of it's rushing damage in the first half with one big yardage running play in the second half.  Most of the attempts for 0 or negative yardage came in the second half with the exception of one big run by Beaver.

Good call on the spread but I maintain turnovers killed (not UWW's rushing attack) and it was those turnovers that doomed the Crusaders.  5 TO's and 3 resulted in TD scores.  There's you're ballgame when you're on the road and the underdog.

Does anyone know if Mount's game will be televised?   If so, do you know the details?   Thanks.

Looking ahead to TCNJ...

MUC will have to contain DL Joe King (leads teams in tackles/27.5 TFL/14.0 sacks).  Sounds like someone on MUC's line...

Garcon should have a good challenge in his matchup with DB Andrew Larkin.  He's only 5'8" but he's a three year starter and seems to be a bit of a ballhawk with 7 INT's for 179 yards and 2 TD's.

There's no clear cut dominant RB with the leading rusher tallying 651 yards and four other backs with more than 100 yards on the year.  The QB looks to have issues with accuracy.  By all accounts, it looks like TCNJ is a defensive team.

I'm guessing TCNJ will have a hard time putting up points and hope they can provide a challenge to the MUC offense.  I wouldn't expect the aerial assault from this afternoon to carry over next week.  This team doesn't look to be equipped to throw the ball as well.

I look forward to hearing what some of the NJAC'ers have to say about TCNJ's chances and what you Raider fans should expect.

From what I'm hearing TCNJ shouldn't even be in this game, but since they are, I get the feeling you'll see Mt. Union pitch a shutout.

By all accounts they are purly a defensive team, and won't be able to do anything against Mount's defense.

I'm going to have to concede that TCNJ probably will lose by more than 30 this game --- I fully anticipated having RPI making the trip to Alliance.

Should be an easy day next saterday - TCNJ evidently has a very good defense, but you're not going to win 10-7 vs. MUC's offense, so the gameplan is shot already. They may make MUC work hard to put points on the board, but I don't think it's even going to be close at the end of the day. Hopefully I'm wrong, I'm only going on what I've read.

Presto

at the last minute i was able to make the trip to alliance today and i'm glad i did i saw a good game.  ithaca is better than i thought they'd be, they probably would have the best offense in the oac aside from mount union.  their qb is tough and #8 was open all day except for a couple dropped balls. no running game did the bombers in though. and kmic and garcon are in a league of their own. the missed opportunities are what mount union does to you, bw got inside their 35 seven times this year and scored no points.

couple more things, i was disappointed in the crowd, someone was saying the smallest of the year, why is that? head to head with osu?

also that was the worst officiated game i have seen this year.  where did they get those officials?  i hope they are embarrassed with themsleves.

but ithaca played hard for four quarters nice job!

Here's their web site.  They have a link to Titan TV which appears to provide programing over the internet.  I've never tried it.  Good luck.
