After watching the SNF game last night I have to ask:

Are the New England Patriots becoming the Mount Union College of the NFL?

Second question:

If yes, then what does that make Josh McDaniels?

Very good at his job with very, very, very, very, very, very, very good personel.  How insane was that last night?  7 straight touchdowns?  To paraphrase Dan Hawkins...IT'S NFL FOOTBALL!  IT'S THE AFC!  THIS AIN'T NFL EUROPA.  YOU GET 4 DOWNS TO TRY TO STOP THE OPPOSING OFFENSE.  THEY PUT UP 49 ON YOU, THAT'S 7 POSSESSIONS!  Go play NFL Europa, brother.  Go play NFL Europa.

How does that happen?

There were many grumblings over in E8 nation last night about this --- I say the Bills, or any other team need not worry about Belichick calling off the dogs, they should simply man up and stop them on a series or two.

Brady was out in the beginning of the fourth, and they ran all 4th qtr - still racked up yards.

If you can't stop a team at all, that's on you IMHO. If he wanted to hang 70 on the Bills he would have kept at it in the 4th qtr --- he could have done way more damage than he did.

On the fourth downs when he went for it, maybe you can make an argument that was uncalled for, but again, make a play.

Just my two cents 8)

Given my experience with that board last year, I have no problem believing this. Wee bit sensitive over there, they are. They got bent out of shape that I dared ask a question about someone other than St. John Fisher on the day they lost to Mount Union.

I guess New England should have taken a knee on every down after halftime. I saw nothing wrong with what they did, but then again I typically don't have a problem with running up the score even when it is legitimately running up the score. You want them to not run up the score? Stop them. Or kneecap their QB. Ya know, either one.

The clear differences between Mount and the Patriots are:

Mount does not intentionally run up the score
Mount respects their opponents and vice-versa
Larry Kehres respects the media
Former Mount players now coaching do not despise Mount Union
Mount does not videotape or record their opponents sidelines
Mount's players play because they love the game
Mount players prefer chili instead of chowder

Congrats to Mike Hallett and all the Purple Raiders making All-OAC.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Congrats as well, to the non-Hallet coaches and non-Mount Union players for the OAC honors  ;)

I am extremely happy that Hallett was voted Coach of the Year.  That's an awesome job he's done at the Berg in his first season.  And it is even better that he was recognized appropriately by his peers.

As for the rest of the OAC, I am really disappointed in a couple categories...

No disrespect to the players that were given first team nods but the RB category is all out of whack (with the obvious exception of Kmic).  Traditionally in the OAC, the nod goes to the upperclassmen when all things are relatively equal right?  That's how I remember it anyways.  Along with Kmic, first team should have gone to BW's Ranallo and ONU's Meadows.  IMHO the Berg's Sims and OTT's Eric Yates should be second teamers based on their numbers.  The second leading rusher (and two time all-OAC selection) shouldn't be second team while the fifth leading rusher in the league is a first teamer.  That's crap and IMO it was done because of the Berg turnaround.  I think Steve West and Dawond Roddy are more deserving of accolades for the Berg this year than Sims.  The numbers support me here to considering Roddy accounted for more scores and more yardage as a WR than Sims did as a RB.

And I know Pierre Garcon is an absolute stud but I feel bad for OTT's Scott DeLong who had almost 400 more receiving yards (only 1000 yard receiver in the OAC), the same number of TD grabs and similar yards per catch.  He had a heckuva season but Garcon got the Sherman Award because of what he is capable of and not what his numbers say.  I don't want to be too critical here because I am sure Garcon would have had much better numbers if he played more than the first half of so many games; it's just a shame DeLong's incredible season didn't get him the Sherman Award (any other year.....).

I don't know if there's ever been more competition across the board for all-conference on the d-line than this year.  That second team looks scarier than most league's first teams.

Wilma Sr. LB Adams got hosed too.  He led the OAC in TFL yardage by a large margin (107 yards on 12.0 TFL) and had 8.0 sacks but he only manages honorable mention.

Only one non-senior on the first team defense and 7 non-seniors on the first team offense (6 juniors and 1 sophomore).  Congrats to all those who made the list this year.  I think a couple guys got robbed but such is the case every year in thses types of things.

Congratulations Coach Mike, I know that Raider66  is smiling down on you today. I know that he would be very proud of all you've accomplished, as are all of us on this board. Good job, now go pick on Coach Paul and leave the old man alone. ;D ;D ;D

"Ithaca threw the ball extremely well, but the big thing was the rushing," said Kehres. "Defensively, we wanted to take that aspect away from them and we did that. If you're going to give up something, we feel like if we can control the opponent's ground game, we can battle to survive with our pass defense."

And that's the way it is or was, eh?

I'm surprised by how quickly Eastern fans have jumped off the bandwagon because RPI and Hobart are out.  St. John Fisher is the only hope?  That may be.

TCNJ v. RPI game drew only 419 fans.
1822 in attendance for Mount Union v. Ithaca game was well below the average for Mount Union Stadium.
With Thanksgiving Break this week and TCNJ visiting, there might not be much of a crowd.

They had it at 419, I believe it was a little bit more than that... maybe not a ton more, but more nonetheless.

Just a thought.  Why don't all you Raider fans voting for LK on the COY poll start voting for Hallet instead.  Not like LK is starved for recognition.

OK so it might help CWRUs coach.   :o
