Oh we at Fisher are collectively holding our breath as not only our starting left guard went out in the first quarter and won't play against Mount Union but Stepnick who is the backbone of our defense is questionable to play, and if he does will be playing in pain.  Fisher's defense has been really clicking lately but without Stepnick, Garcon will run wild for sure which will free up the running game for Kmic to run wild which will then cause us to stack the box and it will open it up for Garcon to go wild which will then free it up for....oh no i've gone cross-eyed.

Excuses already?

We're down our starting FS and FB.  So what's your point?

In regards to New Jersey, what a farse of a team.  I've seen high school teams better coached and playing with more composure.  Good thing the game was well in hand and LK could get the starters out early, because the NJ cheap shots were flying.  Their offense was the worse I've seen all season.  Even the 2nd MUC defense was too much for the NJ starting offense.

I certainly agree with the coaching being bad.  That fake punt was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.  But, please,  let's don't forget Averett.  That was the worst team I've seen all season.  (52-0 first quarter).

Wow.  I think Booby was just joking a little bit.  No excuses will be made if a loss occurs.

HScoach, you are usually a level headed poster.  Whats with dissing the New Jersey coaching staff?  Maybe they were just totally overmatched.  I would say an 8-3 season, with an appearance in the 2nd round of the NCAA playoffs, is a pretty darn good coaching job considering they were chosen to finish second to last in their own conference.  Give them a break.

It is a big loss - He is one of the best D3 defensive players I have seen.

With that said, the hallmark of a top program is that the players that fill in step up to the task.  After he went out, the defense still was able to hold Curry scoreless for about 58 minutes of the game.

Indeed they did - But Curry was awful. A team like MUC will exploit the p*ss out of Bostick --- we'll need to help him and hope Miranto plays a flawless game.

is if any of them could have made it to the 2nd round.

SJF Fan,
My point, which I didn't make clear (sorry about that), was how many unranked or lower ranked teams that automatically make the playoffs by winning in weak conferences would get beat by OAC teams.  I'm talking this year.

PS - You wouldn't be qualified to answer since you don't follow the OAC.

Runyr - every year, due to the AQ, more than a few teams that get left out ask that question. Last year it was Cortland due to BU's upset to win its conference.

As to your assertion that I am not qualified to answer a hypothetical (is anyone?) because I don't follow the OAC - Why would I want to follow a conference that has no parity? What else is there to know about a conference other than in 2007, one team ran through it by an avg. score of 51-1?

Bostick and Miranto are both capable backups, but both are very short.  Which doesn't bode well against athletic receivers like Garcon.  My guess, is that Fisher will move Miranto with Garcon wherever he lines up.  They have used this tactic in the past.

Curry was 12-0 heading into this week's game.  Perhaps it was SJF that made Curry look awful.  - I like our chances in Alliance.

1. (is anyone?) (Yes, God, hscoach, ric, and maybe rc.)
2. There are nine other teams to follow in the OAC, some better than a few teams that made the playoffs.
3. Take MTU out of the OAC and the OAC is still better than some conferences with automatic bids.

I agree Fisher made Curry look bad, but since you keep throwing around the lack of talent in conferences, let's not forget where Curry came from either.

The offensive and defensive schemes were not flexible and very predictable.  The pressure defense is effective, but not every single play.  That only works in PlayStation.

My real problem was the coaching staff's lack of effort in trying to control their kids late in the game.  The NJ player frustration was understandable after seeing a 56-7 deficit early in the 3rd quarter, but after numerous late hits and a lot of mouthing off, I didn't see 1 single coach talk to the player responsible for any of the unsportmanlike displays.   There's no excuse for that.

Overall, I was not impressed with any part of what NJ brought to the field today.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

In virtually every category TCNJ is a better team than Curry. Curry has the honor of being the best team from the worst conference. No bragging rights for beating either TCNJ or Curry. They are both dreadful for a playoff team. Grab some reality.
