Johnny there will not be a new stadium nor is there a need for one.  They put millions, millions into the current stadium recently.  The astro play was installed prior to the 2002 season and still looks and plays better than a lot one or two years old.

You can bet the farm LK will address the poor sportsmanship issue. It really is about five guys and I'm proud to say only one is an alumni. The one jerk used to hassle people in the parking lot as they parked their cars. You jerks better be careful;LK hears you and you'll be gone, gone gone from MUC athletic facilities, and he will be listening this week, something he shouldn't have to deal with, but he will.I can't wait to see LK come over and personally kick a few of these chumps out.It is,after his house.

Mount Union Stadium c1915.  The AstroPlay wasn't installed until a couple of years later. ;D

rscl I believe that picture was actually taken on October 31, 1914 on the one year anniversary of the stadium.

I had it dated 1914, but the College web site says the stadium was built in 1915 so I changed the date (thus the reason for the circa).

Wow, I've  been out for 2 days and the place blows up.

In regards to Hammer and His Merry Band of Idiots, they have no business sitting where they do.  If they want to act like like they're still in junior high, they should do it else where.  Not behind the opposing bench and beside the opposing parents/fans.

MUC's winning percentage is reason enough for the rest of the football world to hate Mount.  We don't need a handfull of idiots making it worse.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I know I'll call out the fans and the area in which they are sitting if I even sense something like that is going on during the game.

You all represent your school by hosting these events, so act like you've been here before (here, meaning hosting playoff games).  With the publicity your school will be receiving for the, up to, next three games, keep that in mind and be supportive of your own team instead of antagonistic of the other team.

Frank, I do the play-by-play for the commercial station for Mount Union games.  On a professional level, I'm not quite sure why you would say something like that.  I have never gone to a game, even a rival game at the college or high school level, where there were problems in the past, looking to call someone out.

This Mount Union football program has built its reputation by the way it has conducted itself over the past 22 years that Larry Kehres has been head coach.

There really is no need, by you, to tell anyone at Mount Union what actions may or may not do to the program.  I kinda take offense that someone that I believe has never seen Mount Union play in person or been to Alliance would make comments like that, speaking honestly.  Maybe I took your post in a way you didn't intend it, but to me, you come across like a Dad berating a little boy and Mount Union certainly doesn't need someone else to watch over its ship.

I was preparing to send you an IM telling you that if there is any information or help that you need in preparation before you get to Alliance, or prior to the game Saturday morning, I would be willing to help any way I can.  And that offer is still open, but I gotta be honest with you on how your post made me feel.

rscl, I've had that discussion with them.  When I told them the date of the picture I had they seemed to think it was authentic.  For years the media guide listed this under the 1913 season: (Nov. 1 vs. Case was first game played at Mount Union Stadium).  The media guide this year still mentions a notation about that game being the first at the new field.

raiderfan1983

Is there any way that this discussion can be taken away from the fans in the stands and back to the game on the field?
They should have practiced harder.

I agree with this, by the way.

Mount Union Stadium is the oldest college football stadium in Ohio. They are proud of the history and have pictures of early games played there in the press box.  They won't be building a new stadium.  Solving the problem of 1% if the fans is the ticket, not demolishing the structure.

I was sure this wasn't right, but it is. Older than Don Drumm by a year.

I learned something. :)

Hey I love Mt. Union and their tradition, but that looks like an old stadium.  Tradition is great, but I guess untill they start losing recruits to other schools, the stadium will be fine.

Just looking at Cortlands new field (15 million), that is something I expect more and more d3 colleges to start building. (its happening now at RPI and a few NEFC schools in the northeast)

The Cortland facility looks impressive, but where's the roof? ;)
