from what little I know about the injury it's a "what you probably won't see".  I hope I didn't scare any Mount fans with my portrayal of Bethel as having talent.

After '03 it's probably certain that MUC will prepare for an injured star as if he would return at 110%.

Great, now I'll get attacked by johnnie fans thinking that I compared Wetzell to Elliott. ;D

please Mount union fans, underestimate Bethel and expect to win 52-3.  It's been a while since Johnnie fans felt that aura of invincibility when facing Bethel and I imagine that most Bethel backers miss it.

Small but Slow

I'm an MUC guy, and I'm not accusing you of comparing the two.  The intent of my statement is simply that Mount will prepare as if Wetzell is going to be in perfect health.  It's good to have someone come in and shake things up a bit.  Don't take any of it personally or think everyone is against you, even if they are.

jaypeter

It's not that people are against Bethel, we're just so impressed with Mount.

Don't worry about offending me Small, the whole karma bit has never managed to keep me down in the past either.

I have no doubt that Kehres is going to have his guys ready to go on Saturday.

Winning the Stagg Bowl would truly be icing on the cake for Bethel when they get past Mount Union.  I don't know if Mary Hardin-Baylor felt that way in '04, but the Raiders weren't on the same type of unbelievable winning streak at the time.

Hrmmm...why am I not surprised by this?  Something tells me you likely relish your karma score.  If I had the ability, I'd give you nothing but positive karma! :D

I was there when Rowan snapped the first record-breaking streak.  Watching them react, and talking to a couple of fans afterwards, some thought they already had won the Stagg.  I don't know that UMHB felt that way, though.  They are a much more level-headed group of fans, plus they didn't have a history with us like Rowan did.  UMHB fully knew who they had beaten, but they also knew that wasn't the biggest game.  No offense to New Jersey fans, but Texas fans tend to know football in a much deeper way.

If that isn't a subjective statement filled with bull, I haven't seen one.

Pat,
I guess it has to be a joke as you said what AO posts, nothing he's said has made much sense from the get go. I'll take with great pride then in moving his karma to the abyss of -400.  ;D

Although I wouldn't call Jaypeter's statement "filled with bull", I do have to counter that statement with the following.  I think IF there was a bigger reaction by the Rowan fans after their victory in '99, it was more related to their previous repeated attempts to climb the Mount with no success.  I think the difference between MHB and Rowan fans were that MHB fans were on this incredible ride.  They wanted to win, they saw their team play at a very high level, but they weren't consumed with beating Mount like I think Rowan might have been.

I think this was more due to Rowan's previous history -- a frustrating one -- with Mount Union.

I think Pat is on track with what he stated about the Rowan fans.  Plus there just aren't that many NJAC fans posting about football and basketball and there never really has  been.  Just a small hardcore group of us that try to keep up.  D-III sports aren't the only game in town in NJ.  Plus the students at the NJAC schools either commute to school or if they do live in the dorms go home on weekends to work, visit etc.  Most of the campus' are kind of dead on weekends in the NJAC.
